any wheel alignment should be able to set it up for you, I would get a quote , if the struts are in good condition it should not affect the alignment once it is set up .
High pitched car sounds
does the noise and light occour at the same time ? another cause of a high pitched noise can be slipping drive belts, alternator, powersteering etc so check them for tightness, condition etc, does the noise happen when car staionary and just rev the engine ? if so i would say it is the drive belt/s, go back to the VW dealer re the ABS light and get them to check the OBD as should be done as part of the service , hope this helps
2001 Jetta TDI Battery drain??
If you suspect the alternator, disconnect the 12V line coming directly from the battery and check for current drain. Are you sure the current unit is in ampere (A) and not milliampere (mA)? A 5A current will drain your battery in about an hour. A 5mA current is just about normal considering the parasitic load (radio memory chip, clock, ECM memory circuit, etc.). Try checking your battery. It could be the real culprit.
When do you change timing belt on 2001 TDI Jetta.
My sincere apologies for the delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.
I do not know if you still need this information, however I am answering it either way.
The Serpentine Belt: visible on the outside of the Engine, should be replaced every 60,000 miles. The Timing Belt: not visible/inside the Engine, should be inspected/replaced every 100,000 miles.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!
Again my apologies...
2001 VW Jetta 2.0
My wife's minivan had a similiar/related problem....especially on a
bumpy gravel road....on off on off on off...AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! (this was
both the beeps and the lights....as I said AHAHHHHH!)
I resolved
it by figuring out which door was causing the issue....very irritating
the flashing interior lights, etc.......the issue is likely that the
rubber gasket is worth enough to not push the sensor in completely....
- locate the sensor on each door....little 1" shaft like area in the door pillar area...pressed in when the door is closed
- with the engine running, open each door (one at a
time) to manually press this switch in ( to identify which door is
causing this irritating issue)
- once the troubled door is located...look to see where it would make contact on the door itself
- look for a rubber nickel sized plug on the door
- it is likely worn slightly, or pressed out of shape
- to resolve my wife's issue, I turned this plug a 1/4 turn or so...to the 'unworn' area
- this worked really well...although it took a few 1/4 turns to figure out the best fix
- ultimately it was an irritating fix....but the problem
is/was much worse than pulling over every now and a again to 'fix'
it...esp. at night (think flashing interior light, beeping..esp. when
the kids had just fallen asleep!!!!)
- P.S....it was a little fiddle process, but once you do it once then, you can fiddle some more
- long-term, perhaps get another 'plug', but my solution worked really well
Something is draining my battery 134,000 M
IT costs nothing to have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell which your problems point to. While the engine is running the alternator will be handling the power requirement but the battery will not supply the power required to start.
2006 jetta tdi, ambient temperature location? my
the sensor should be located behind the front bumper grill.look through the bumper grill and you should see the ambient temp sender.on the dash, does the display where the temperature used to read have 3 dash lines?if so there is an open circuit in the wiring to the sensor.this will cause the aircon not to work..good luck.
Vw jetta
check all connections to the starter, and check relays.. also have the starter tested
