How do your repair the heater in 1998 olds
Sounds like the heater control unit is going bad. I believe this unit has a digital/vacuum control unit which explains why you are only getting hot out of one vent. Try the salvage yard or ebay for a replacement unit. They are non-repairable...
Car dies and it shiftsin to gear really hard
Sounds like you have a severe vacuum leak. Poor vacuum will cause the trans to shift hard, very hard, and will also cause driveability concerns. Check all of your vacuum lines make sure they are intact, and not broken or leaking, and replace any that look questionable.
Putting a belt back on... issue
you have to put a wrench on the belt tensioner rotate it all the way back, this allows the room you need to install the belt
Broken belt tensioner. How to replace?
HI begin by disconnecting battery , remove alternator then remove the two heater hoses attach to tensioner bracket by removing the to front screws, you will lose coolant so put a pan on the bottom .Then remove bolts attached to tensioner bracket.it will require a little force to pull out yest make sure you got all the bolts out before applying force. Here is a picture tensioner and bracket assembly so you can see what bolts to remove. let me know how it turns out it is not so bad to do
It doesn't go into gear, when I put it in reverse
check your fluid level..(transmission), nothing will work if the fluid is too low....if that's ok, then the linkages might be off alignment, also there is a vacuum controlled valve that is mounted outside the transmission casing on the transmission that controls your shifting as well....(modulator valve) if the vauum is missing, this will also give you trouble....you might have a broken or clogged vacuum line, a bad modulator valve..etc...., but first check your fluid level...that's most likely causing your problem
good luck

spray the throttle springs really good with the cleaner, let it dry, and spray the lithium grease on it, and work the throttle back and forth, this should solve your problem.
