Heating problems for Mitsubishi Galant 2000
1) The "heat" cycle on a vehicle depends on the engine's operating temperature when "heat'' desired," as well as the "external temperature of the atmosphere; colder days will create "lower" internal temperatures for the vehicle's passenger compartment as related to the amount of cooling of the radiator fluid through the radiator.2) One option exists as to place "a 'piece of cardboard' in front of the radiator itself," especially in very cold areas of the country.3) The other problem may involve your "thermostat" of the vehicle being "bad" (they fall apart sometimes), versus being of the wrong temperature variety; In this case your "automotive technician" should be consulted so as to replace your vehicle's thermostat with a different thermostat.4) Lower temperature thermostats (185 F) open the system to the engine at 185 degrees; with 195 F opening the system at 195 degrees.5) One of these solutions (the cheapest being the cardboard) may be of assistance (just remember to remove the cardboard in the summer/spring).6) As of 03-09, 2019 @ 1448 CST; I'd like to add this comment to my above earlier data: It's "best" to never "change" the thermostat rating (exampled from a 185 to a 195; even vice versa) on your vehicle. Simply use the cardboard, removing it with warmer weather.
Stereo wont come on
It's probably not a fuse problem. If you got a new battery or your battery went dead or was unhooked, that will make the Galant radio reset and quit working. You have to contact your dealer (or any Mitsubishi dealer) and get the radio code for that car from them. If they don't know you or have you on file as the buyer, you'll have to prove you're the owner. (It's an anti-theft device.) Then you put in the code they give you and the radio works!
2000 galant turns over but wont start
As with any no start problem, you need to figure out if you are lacking fuel to the injectors, compression, or spark to the plugs to know what to start checking.
Car won't start
A dead battery is usually the 1st thing to check. It also might be your starter.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------tacho pro 2008
Water leak on driver's side - 2000 Mitsubishi Galant
I was a manager at a Mitsubishi dealership.
There was a "secret warranty" on certain Galants where the firewall seam would fair and leak water into the interior. Call your local dealer to see if your vin qualifies. The fix is to simply reseal the firewall crimp seam with silicone sealant.
Alternatively, sunroof equipped cars sometimes get the drain channels clogged in time. Make sure to clean drain holes and use forced air if necessary.
Lastly, some cars have heaters with pollen filters. If those filters become clogged, condensation can accumulate and overflow into the interior.
If any of these solves your issue, please rate my answer
