1996 Chevrolet Impala SS Questions & Answers
Where is the starter relay on a 1996 impala ss
if you are talking about the theft deterrent relay, It is wired between the ignition and the starter check to the right of your glove box, you will have to remove the lower dashboard and lay down so that you can see under the dashboard and you should be looking toward the rear of the car.
It will be attached to the metal part of the dashboard.
If you are looking for the actual theft deterrent module, look under the dash on the driver's side. look up and look for a black cover plate. unscrew it and the module is there. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at

Replaced battery now car wont turn over
Check to make sure that the battery is not defective. 12.5 volts . Make sure your connections are clean and tight, but do not over tighten or you may strip out the battery terminal, and then you will have to purchase a new battery. Check your fuses in the engine compartment either on the fender or the firewall. If everything checks out then check the connection to the started make sure you are getting power down there. 12.5 off battery lead. If all else has checked out okay, then i can only assume that the solenoid to the starter has gone bad, either replace it or more importantly replace the entire starter. To eliminate future problems from reoccurring
Changed battery now car wont turn over
Make sure + and - leads are connected to correct terminals on battery; double check around battery to make sure you didn't leave anything hanging loose/unconnected.
1990 chevy truck fuel pump doesnt have full voltage
I would start with checking the fuse and relay for that circuit. If that is fine then you will want to check the oil sending unit. If the sending unit breaks, the fuel pump will not work. Please state as much information as you can. Please write back with everything that you have tested and noticed. I will do my best to help. good luck.
Rear defrost stays on when car is shut off in 1996 impala ss
The rear defro does not have power going to it with the key off. This means there is somehow a short to power to this switch, if you can remove the switch check for power at the connection. If there is power there is a short, I will send you a schematic of the circuit.
