2002 Buick LeSabre - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What is a cooling fan s/p (relay)?
They are all in the fuse box under the hood the relays dont work in a way where one controls one fan and one controls another fan they run the fans in series for low speed and paralel for high speed. They are numbered 37,39,40 you would have to replace them all to see if that takes care of your problem

Where is the battery located in my 2002 lesabre
It should be under the back seat in the passenger side. The bottom cushion hinges forward on hooked anchor tabs at the lower
front of the cushion. Take hold of the bottom cushion at the seam where
it meets the bottom of the backrest and lift. The bottom cushion will
hinge forward and the hooked tabs at the lower front of the cushion will
release from the anchors so that you can lift the cushion out of the
car.

Passkey 3 disable
How about actually FIXING it? It's really easy. There is NO way to disable PassKeyIII unless you know how to rewrite the software code. If you could disable it, they wouldn't call it anti-theft.

Replaced thermostat, heater core is hot on both
The blend door in the HVAC plenum controls temperature, and that door has an electrical actuator that may have failed. Switching door(s) for diverting air to the different outlets is set by vacuum controlled diaphragm(s) and maybe either a diaphragm has failed or you have a vacuum line problem.
Since both are controlled by the HVAC control panel/module you replaced, sounds like even though you replaced it, it may not be working correctly - the only way to diagnose is to check the electrical line to and back from the actuator for correct readings, and vacuum lines at the controller and diaphragm(s) for vacuum. You should also recheck the connections to make sure they are correct..
If you used a replacement controller from another vehicle, the replacement controller must be an exact match to the HVAC option in the vehicle, and a new OEM version is strongly recommended if you can find one. Try YouTube to see what's involved in fixing these components.

Replaced cat. convertor at a muffler shop cost
code p 0420 refers to cat converter system bank 1-efficiency below threshold ====causes --cat converter---wiring ---Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in the manifold before the cat converter
as the cat converter is new , that will not be an option as for the rest if the codes were not prior to the cat replacement , I would suspect wire harness problems from the cat fitment
possible to use a scan tool to reset the ECm

The switch is shorted to ground. Verify with a multimeter. But before take your precautions with the air bag in the steering wheel. Desactivate it before.

On a 2002 Buick LeSabre, if I unplug the iac can I drive the car...it does not stall
Hey robert, sounds like the a/c compressor may be locked up...you can get a new compressor or get a "bypass kit" that replaces the compressor with a pulley and it should be fine..
Some parts houses will assist you in getting a short serpentine belt that will allow you to eliminate the compressor with just a shorter belt..(IF the configuration wil allow)..
