P1441 code on2001 740il
2001 bmw 740iL with code p1441 is the leakage diagnostic pump, you will need to check the connection to the pump and also test the evap system for any leaks, you may have a leak in the system, may be a loose gas cap or a line leaking, this system is for the fuel vapors, there are lines that run from the fuel tank to engine and is filtered into a canister and theres valves and leakage pump in lines, a smoke machine would be needed along with a scan tool to check valves and get readings from system.you can check the gas cap and look around for broken lines. good day
My obd and radio are
Is the display not working or just dark? The four bulbs across the top of it are easily replaceable if it is just dark.
The radios in these cars have several common problems after a decade of use. In a 1998, I would expect the display to go dark due to cracked connections on the surface mount resistors. The fix for that is here:

The volume control frequently fails on these cars after a decade of use. It is optical so tuner cleaner just makes it worse.
I had one in one of my two '97s just simply go dead on me the other day. I cannot find the problem so it is getting replaced. JVC head units have adjustable display and button colors so you can match the rest of the lights in the dash. Get an antenna plug adapter and a conversion adaptor so that the new head unit will plug in to the existing plug in the dash. You will loose the ability to control a CD changer in the trunk, and your antenna amplifier will no longer amplify FM.

I have been in the same boat as you many times, trying to buy codes for my customers.
And have ran into the same problem. What you can do to get the code is to call BMW. You will have to give them the serial number to the stereo and the vin number of your car. You may even have to call the junk yard that you got the radio from and get the vin number of the car that you got it from. Or make them give you your money back. Because each stereo has a different code so noone steals the radio. So getting the code will have to come from BMW. Please don't spend no more money to get the code.

Look for a blown headgasket, this would prevent the coolant from circulating properly and cause the motor to run hotter and also blow your hose because the water pump can't circulate the coolant fast enough. As far as the transmission goes you will need to replace the throttle position sensor

Hello Scott. Begin by changing all of the plugs, and the fuel filter. Regarding the fact that it won't start when hot, look in the yellow pages under autoelectric shops. These shops have the diagnostic tools to check out your car's systems to see what is going on differently when hot, compared to when cold, to get to the bottom of your troubles. Joe

Your engine has two identical air mass sensors, what I have done in the past to confirm it is a air mass sensor fault is clear the code, swap the sensors from side to side and see if the fault moves sides, if yes then new sensor if no then check for air leaks on inlet on bank 2
Where is the starter on
It is bolted into the rear of the gearbox belllhousing down behind the engine. It is easier to access from underneath with the car on a 4 post lift / ramp.
3 bolts hold it on, plus the heavy battery lead nut, and a push on terminal from the ignition.

overloading the circuit. It's doing what it's supposed to do. Put the radio on another fuse to lighten the load.
