Could be your outer CV joints. When you turn left, the weight of the vehicle transfers to the right wheel and visa-versa and you'll know which CV joint is knocking. You can buy a boot kit which includes grease, nut, clamps and the rubber outer boot for $30.

Hi i have a whing noise coming from front

Usually when this happens it tells the tech that the left outer CV Joint is starting to dry up from lose of grease. The rubber boot could be torn and spitting out grease. When you turn right, most of the car's weight is tranfered to the left wheel. The same thing happens when you turn left, the weight is transfered to the right wheel. Lift it up and inspect the Constant Velocity Joints inner and outter rubber boots for leakage or tearing, there are two each axle. Most of the time it would only need a new boot and repacked with high temp grease.

Air conditioning failure on a 2006 volkswagen golf

The condensers are infamous for developing leaks on the VW's. Before replacing Compressor have the shop do a vacuum test on it to make sure its holding pressure. If a compressor is bad the system will still hold vacuum. If the system does not hold vacuum then the problem is not compressor but in the condenser or lines with a leak. Have the shop do a leak test on it ONLY after vacuum test.

My 2006 vw golf, was involved in an accident a eek

Since you have an indicator showing this, I assume it should also trigger a check engine light or maintenance light. If it has already then you need a diagnostic device connected to it in order to retrieve an error code. Once you get the error code then you can have an idea of where to start troubleshooting. Hope this helps.

Open the boot, pull back the lineing to reveal the off side rear lamp cluster, underneath the cluster you will see a black box with a plug and a plastic preshure pipe going to it (this is the vac- air+ preshure pump and electronic control unit.
Now what happens is this the seal on the back light cluster leek rain water in after a while, and guess where it goes? Yes thats right all over and inside the box where al the electronics are! Fantastic ! any way solution is easy just take the box out....take it in the house open it... tip the water out! dry it out in the airing cubard or hair dryer e.t.c. put the lid back on thats it (GOODTHING REALLY SEEN THE PRICE OF THEM?) oh! forgot to say it is in like some grey polystirine in the car to stop it banging about!sugest you re seal the lamp unit with some RTV silicone sealer (Better than the manufacture seals) OH YES THAT BOX ALSO IS THE ALARM CONTROL TOO!
There you go Neil your all sorted!

I have just been told that my VW Golf GT TDi 140

Since exhaust gas (therefore lots of carbon) runs through the EGR it isn't uncommon for them to fail. Sometime a simple cleaning can put them back in service. You'll have to remove the vavle and use a strong cleaner (like carb or brake parts cleaner) to remove the carbon. Clean the valve and the area where the valve bolts to the engine. I've known this to save many people hundreds of dollars in a wasted repair. Good luck.
