Here is how to replace the water pump on a 2007 mini (cooper s in this case, but the same for others) by only taking off the wheel and inner cover.
Also the thermostat at the same time:
If you are having trouble fitting the wind deflector, try adjusting any of the four spring loaded pins. Each pin is actually a screw that can be turned to lengthen or shorten for a proper fit. Once pins are the correct length, facing the rear, insert the two pins on the left / passenger side first. Then use the springs to insert the rear / driver side pins. Last pin inserted should be the one closest to the driver seat. The large clip should extend just over the outer, right edge of the deflector.
To fold, you first need to release the pin from the upper / folding part of the deflector. This pin is on the driver side of the deflector, but on the left part of the clip. When removing / folding the deflector, grab the clip closest to the driver seat, and pull out and back (towards the driver seat). Then slide as far left (towards passenger side) as it will go. This should release the pin from the upper/folding part of the deflector and allow for easy folding.
some sort of bad connection inside the radios socket
or bad coax
check the antenna with an ohm meter
to see if the coax is shorted out
and also that there is continutity between the center pin of the coax radio plug and the antenna
you can demount the radio and stick a bit of wire in as a quick test
if you get the signal then its something coax related
if not its something to do with the front end of the radios reciever circuit
and you need a radio engineer that fixes car radios and cb etc
they will make it work for sure
i could in ten mins flat ...possibly a transistor has failed
or a bad connection as it comes and goes ...
