Cost to replace upper radiator

it could be a weeping leak......that has not become so bad that the coolant is causing air to get into the system and run hot....the hose is about 130 bucks and about 1.5 hours to change...then coolant is 20.00 per liter from dealer so 360 is pretty close to the actual charges. But open the hood and let the car reach temperature and look for the hose running up the back of the from top to bottom.and see if you smell any coolant.

This sounds like a bad brake light switch, look under the dash on the driverside, locate the brake pedal and follow it up and you will see the switch near the top of the pedal bracket, unplug the switch and the brake light should go out, you will need to replace the switch.

P1405 DPFE Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged
This is actually going to be real easy. There is a sensor with 2 rubber hoses. It probably has a hole in it. This is a black sensor with 2 screws to hold it in place.

Key fobs will not function.

  • The first thing is to make sure the battery was a good one. Cheap batteries will not do for an FOB.
  • Make sure there is no corrosion on the terminals that connect to the battery inside the FOB.
  • I am surprised that the FOB worked after replacing the batteries. The S Type usually need a reprogramming. You may need the dealer for this but I do know how to program a FOB for an S Series Jaguar.
  1. Turn the ignition on and off ( don't start the car, just put the ignition clear forward and back) 8 times with in a 10 second time frame. This will put the security system into programming mode.
  2. Now push any button on the FOB transmitter you want the system to recognize.
  3. Now switch off the ignition.
  4. Repeat for each FOB transmitter you want to program.
  • Should the reprogramming not work the you may need have the FOB(s) replaced or repaired from the dealership. Jaguar S Type Jaguar FOBS have had their issues with static electricity knocking the programming out and at times ruining them.

I OWN A 2001 JAGUAR

Hi, usually the problem is the` reader` which is the device which takes the information from the
ignition key and sends it to the ecu.
This reader is situated in the steering columm ( not sure exactly where ).
Have the key checked as the code in the key could be currupted.
Hope i have shed some light on this problem.

2005 s type jaguar. pulled

Yes, first check the battery and alternator. When you removed and reinserted the fuse, something related to battery ,alternator and throttle body got shorted.and this error displayed.------- The error ,message displayed " gearbox fault, parkbreak fault and restricted performance" This error is related to battery, alternator and throttle body problems.------- So first test your battery, there should be 12 volts with ignition on., then check alternator,m there should be 13.2 to 14 or above volts with ignition key on.------- If battery and alternator both checked ok and there connections checked ok, then check the throttle body.-----------------------
check the four and two wire plugs at the throttle body to make sure the plug and the prongs on the sensor are not dirty and are connected properly, and the clips are not broken. IF that checks out, check the wiring on the loom that crosses right behind the articulation joint to make sure it hasn't rubbed through. Otherwise your going to have to cut the loom open and fix the wiring. If all of that fails, then the car needs a new throttle body. ---------------- If all of that pass then problem relates to cars computer.First recheck all the fuses in the fuse box again, to confirm that no fuse is loose or blown. If all fuses checked ok then ECM( the cars computer is causing the problem. It has to be replaced.--------- click this link for throttle body plug inspection:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/07/throttle-body-plug-for-2005-s-type.html ---------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

It wont start or shift

Jaguar shifters are a known problem. Make sure your brake lights work, have someone verify while stepping on brake pedal with key on. IF you have brake lights your shifter assembly is bad. Replace and you will be good to go.

OBD code: 1576 is generated.

Hi,

When the failsafe light comes on the PCM has detected a fault and goes into a restricted mode to prevent damage to the engine and transmission. It can be a brake switch, accelerator pedal problem or possibly a fault with the electronic throttle.

As you have already scanned and got 1576,this code is for the pedal position sensors. The usuall cause is the accelerator pedal itself as all the sensors are internal in the pedal. The cost of the part is around $475.The pedal is easy to replace as you need to remove two 10mm nuts and one wire connector.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Kindly accept my solution.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!.
