2007 Saturn Sky Red Line Convertible Questions & Answers
Overheating no fliud leaks
Take off your oil fill cap and turn it upside down, if it is foamy inside then your coolant is seeping into your lubrication system. With the engine running take a good long sniff at your tailpipe, if you detect that sickly sweet antifreeze odor, then your coolant is going into your combustion system. Two most common causes of overheating with no evident leak. If either is evident, get to a mechanic ASAP
I have a 2008 saturn sky. When I put the top up
I had the same problem. Check for a tear on the underside of the top..,directly underneath where the fabric gets pinched. It's most likely torn from the metal piece that has popped out of the rubber shroud. Every time you open and close the top, this part rubs...eventually tears...and then pinches when you try to close the top back.
Solution --
1. Bend the metal back into place (hammer if necessary).
2. Glue a piece of velcro (fuzzy side up) to cover the exposed metal (gorilla glue works nice..but don't use too much!!)
3. Glue a piece of vinyl to the underside of the top (covering the rip)...use a good, flexible-type contact cement and let it sit for a couple of days to allow proper adhesion.
4. The velcro will slide on the vinyl and...no more pinched top!

Reset key fob on saturn sky
need to take it to dealer to relearn key fob,but they dont lose programming often, prob not working cuz it was dropped and the battery terminal insde broke off and not making contact,,
2007 saturn sky won't start
Anyone that runs into this needs to:
Turn the key as if cranking the engine.
Allow the key to return to the run position and LEAVE IT THERE for at least 10 minutes.
Turn off key.
Repeat two more times, or until the car cranks and runs.
I have seen this take up to 6 attempts, but most likely you will only need to make 3 cycles.
There is a high-pitched whine
It seems like what you've discovered is something that will produce the noise based on the amount of wind speed. I'm imagining that you should look for something loose such as a piece of weather stripping, a crack, or an adjoining section of body panels where the gapping may be larger than the other side.
2003 Saturn Vue 2.2 liter. Why is it stalling and the codes are P0340 and P1599. The car doesn't have a camshaft position sensor?
Circuit Description
This ignition system does not use a conventional camshaft position (CMP) sensor that detects valve train position. The ignition control module (ICM) detects when #1 or #3 cylinder has fired on its compression stroke using sensing circuitry integrated within each coil. The sensing circuit detects the polarity and the strength of the secondary voltage output, the higher output is always at the event cylinder. The ICM sends a CMP signal to the engine control module (ECM) based on the voltage difference between the event and waste cylinder firing energy. This system is called compression sense ignition. By monitoring the CMP and crankshaft position (CKP) signals, the ECM can accurately time the operation of the fuel injectors. If the ECM receives an intermittent CMP signal from the ICM, the CMP Resync Counter on the scan tool will increment. When the ECM cannot use the information from the CMP signal, DTC P0340 will set.
Diagnostic Aids
• The following conditions may cause this DTC to set:
- Low resistance in both the #1 and #3 secondary ignition circuits
- High resistance in both the #4 and #2 secondary ignition circuits
- An intermittent crank signal
• An Intermittent crank signal will result in an interrupted cam signal and may set this DTC.
• To locate an intermittent problem, monitor the CMP Active Counter parameter while running the engine with a scan tool. The counter should continuously count up to 255, then reset to zero. The counter will stop counting if a fault occurs in the cam signal circuit.
If this DTC is determined to be intermittent, refer to Intermittent Conditions .
