its most definatly not because of that anyone can change the oil in your car a knock could be caused by a slight miss in the timing or a stuck lifter ect.

that is strange that the key will not release -- there is nothing electrical about the key being held in place. I would recommend trying to move the steering wheel back and forth as you try and turn the key/ignition back and forth and then back to off and try and get the key out then. if this does not do it then it sounds like something has gone wrong in the ignition switch itself and I would recommend jump starting the car and driving it down to your local automotive locksmith and see if they can get the key to release. the ignition might need to be re-pined and a locksmith can do this for you and get your key working good again.

Your vehicle's engine requires oil meeting GM Standard GM6094M. You should look for and use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM6094M. SAE 5W-30 is best for your vehicle.
The best Brand is 5W-30, Mobile 1 synthetic oil, but you can use Castrol GTX 5W-30, too. It is very important to use only one barand of engine oil.
When the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message in the Driver Information Center (DIC) comes on,
means that an oil change service is required for your vehicle.
If the engine oil life system is ever reset accidentally, you must service an oil change for your vehicle within 3,000 miles (5 000 km), or three months wichever comes first, since your last service.
The maintenace tune ups for this car are scheduled at 25K, 50K, 75K, 100K and so on.
Dealer recomend to change the transmission oil and filter at Maintenace II, at 50K, and the air filter too. Use only DEXRON®-VI Automatic Transmission Fluid.
The dealer sugest to flush the radiator every 75K and use 50/50 mixture with distilled water, and use only DEX-COOL. I recommend to flush every 50K.

In your owners manual you'll find the manufactured recomended oil which is 5W30. Synthetic oil will work and protect your engine twice as long as regular oil. I use synthetic on my wife's car so I don't have to change it as often.

press info button on instrament cluster until engin oillife appears . hold down info reset untill it clears off

It is an easy proceedure, but one that is somewhat guarded, (so you'll pay the cadillac dealer for the service).
#1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position without starting the engine.
#2. Press the info button on the DIC, (drivers information center), until oil life remaining is displayed.
#3. Press and hold the info reset button until 100% is displayed.
#4. Turn the key to the off position. Your reset is now complete.

Find another dealer, your rotors are warped. You "may" be a left foot braker.

The gas door flap may have a locking device that is wired to the central locking and keyless remote fob. Make sure all of the doors are unlocked and it should allow you to open the gas cap door.

You need to change the window regulator without the motor on the door as the cable from the regulator may be snap out its place ...
