TRANSMISSION STUCK IN 3RD GEAR
This can be caused by several different things. First the onboard diagnostics have detected a problem and have shut the power off to the shift solenoids which defaults the transmissions to 3rd gear. Second the transmission fuse is blown ( sometimes this is called the ecm2 fuse) which kills power to the shift solenoids and defaults the transmission to 3rd gear. Third is low battery voltage or weak battery. If battery voltage drops below 10 volts sometimes the computer will put the vehicle in a failsafe mode and turn the power off to the shift solenoids ( thats right 3rd gear). These are the most common reasons but by no means the only. This should get you started , Have the codes pulled and a diagnostic run. If the transmission side of the computer is active then you know the fuse and power supply to the computer are ok. You will most likely find a code that points you in the direction of the problem.Be aware that many times the code will be for a solenoid , such as shift solenoid A . This does not mean that this solenoid is bad only that the current draw is not what the computer thinks it should be or the desired ratio is not what it should be.The computer has no way of knowing if a band is broken or a set of splines are stripped.Good Luck!
I have 2005 cts Car needs a jump everytime I cut
It could be bad connections to the battery causing a low amperage max. from the battery through the cables.
When you jump it you add the power of another battery to the cables on apparently clean cable ends and it starts.
Could be a bad starter, too.
CTS_V won't start. Steering wheel locked
Typicaly the security system won't look up the steering wheel, try putting the keys back in and at the same time you try to start the car, shake the wheel back and forth. If this don't cure your problem, and you still feel that this is a security problem , you can try to reset it. The most common way that I know of to reset on a GM product is to turn the keyto the on postion and leave it there for 15 min then shut back off, due this three times, then try to start the car.

My 2003 Cadillac CTS key stuck in the ignition and the gearshift is stuck
Is it stuck in the engine "off" position?
1.) Check your car battery. If it's very low or dead, it may be preventing the ignition from unlocking. If it's low or dead, charge it and try again.
2.) If the battery checks out okay, press firmly on the "S" button (sport mode) next to the gear shifter. Surprisingly, that somehow solves the issue sometimes.
3.) If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the ECM. But try the two steps above first as needed, and if that doesn't work, feel free to post back.
How can I get into my 2002 Cadillac DeVille's glove box. It appears to be locked and I don't have the master key, just the valet key.
If you're having trouble accessing your 2002 Cadillac DeVille's glove box because it seems to be locked and you only have the valet key, here are a few steps you can try:
- Check for a Separate Valet Key Slot:
- Some vehicles have a separate valet key slot inside the glove box. Insert the valet key into this slot, turn it, and see if it unlocks the glove box.
- Inspect for a Release Button:
- Examine the perimeter of the glove box for a hidden release button. Some glove boxes have a button or latch that may not be immediately visible.
- Use the Main Ignition Key:
- Even if you primarily use the valet key, try using the main ignition key to unlock the glove box. Sometimes, the valet key may not have the same features as the main key.
- Check the Owner's Manual:
- Refer to the vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions on unlocking the glove box. It may provide information on alternate methods or features specific to your Cadillac DeVille.
- Contact the Dealership:
- If none of the above steps work, consider contacting your Cadillac dealership. They may be able to provide guidance on unlocking the glove box or assist with obtaining a replacement key.
- Professional Locksmith:
- If all else fails, you may need to consult a professional locksmith. They have tools and expertise to help unlock car compartments, including glove boxes.
Remember to avoid using excessive force as it may damage the glove box. Additionally, make sure you have proof of ownership and identification when seeking assistance from the dealership or a locksmith. If your vehicle has an electronic locking mechanism, it's essential to rule out any electrical issues or malfunctions as well.
