Big problem sounds like car has been left with handbrake on for a long period and not used,now they are stuck which is caused by damp corroding the drum which sticks the shoes to the drum.Old trick ------ release handbrake and try going backwards,shoes have a leading edge and lock into drum increasing braking efficiency for foreward motion but dont worry about the technicals just try it.If it still doesnt work call a mobile mechanic,What a tool though,i have a sovereign XJ6 4 litre and what a set of wheels i slow down at 200kms as anything over is now a automatic jail sentance here in spain ,but had some great burn offs with porches and mercs on the motorway with this car,but i couldnt outrun a helicopter though .

2003 jaguar s type r,i recently check engine light came on and i got 8 total codes misfire but im just wondering about the p1474 code which is based on intercooler water pump circuit malfunction and i did a lot of searches and im confused where the intercooler water pump is located ,, so i see one pic of one that is near the radiator and there one near the left driver side block ,,, and theres is one called engine auxiliary water pump so ,, im confused about those which one should i check engine aux or intercooler water pump or are they the same ,,, or different please help i do research before going to mech

its an external filter ,it should be along fram rail on drivers side

if your xk is a later xk ie xk150 behind the rh front wheel is a ground point which corrodes remake it on the brake pipe bracket or if thats ok try a battery reset ie disconnect wait 2 mins and reconnect if you dont make a clean contact when you connect the battery it can confuse the many modules on these cars

make sure all bolts were tightened properly to caliper.may be loose.
