Car won't start, acts like battery is dead but it
You didn't provide much info to work with, but I'll give it a try. If you're relying on accessories like the lights and/or stereo to determine that the battery is OK, it could still be bad. The starter draws MUCH more power than the accessories, so the battery could still be too low to start the vehicle. Your problem could also be the ignition switch, starter, solenoid, fuseable link, or a host of other items. I suggest that you start with the battery, though. Check the battery connections for corrosion buildup (crusty white junk), and remove & clean them if necessary. Check and refill the battery with distilled water if yours is a serviceable battery, then try a jump start. If the car starts with a jump, the battery is most likely the problem. While it's running, take it to a shop for a battery test and charging system test (both are free at most shops). If the jump won't start it, I recommend pulling the battery and taking it to a shop for testing.
