2008 chevy impala cyl 5 missfire 3.5 eng

sounds like the only thing left is the valve lash. If the intake gasket was bad, it would most likely cause a vacuum leak and effect the overall performance of the engine. You may also notice some oil consumption as well. Also, verify the firing order is correct.

Service Traction control / Engine power reduced/ Engine light on

Engine power reduced problem is the main culprit ! This has to do with the electronic throttle control system . Computer controlled throttle control . The Gas pedal assembly has position sensors as does the throttle body . These are inputs to the PCM/ECM - engine computer . By the signal from the gas pedal the PCM / ECM will control a DC electric motor on the throttle body ,opening an closing the throttle plate .When there is a problem with this system the check engine light comes on and the PCM/ECM will disable traction control an that light will be turned on etc..... These problems can be very tough to find . How much are you willing to spend to track down this problem . Need special tool's to find these problems . Electrical test scope (lab scope ) . Over time these parts wear an the PCM will see conflicting signals . Sometimes the part needs to wear out to find the problem . Have the repair shop keep the vehicle till they find the problem . 2007 Impala rear tire wear due rear wheel spindle rods

Nick52284,
I have gone thru 3 sets of good tires now. Tires lasting from 10-12k miles before they hit cords. This is after the dealer does an alignment to spec. Funny thing is I have never seen the alignment specs from the dealer, I only get "aligned to spec". My wear is on the inside of the tires just as described in the police bulletin. I have tried different brands each time and get the same result (wear to the cords in 6 months or less). The bulletin only applies to the police version becasue GM doesn't want the bill for the thousands of ordinary customers repairs. There are enough complaints of this exact thing on any Chevy site that you can find. We aren't all nimrods.

You may be a guru, but I think you don't know what you are talking about.

Where is the fuse for the cruise control on a 2008 impala

There is no fuse for the cruise control . The BCM supply's power the switches on the steering wheel . The Cruise Control System will engage and adjust vehicle speeds, based on the activation of the following cruise control switches, which are located on the steering wheel: • The on/off switch • The +/RES switch • The -/SET switch The body control module (BCM) monitors the signal circuit of the cruise control switches. The BCM relays the cruise control switch status to the engine control module (ECM) via the serial data circuit. The ECM uses the status of the cruise control switch to determine when to capture and maintain the vehicle speed. The ECM monitors the vehicle speed signal circuit in order to determine the desired vehicle speed. The ECM uses the TAC motor in order to maintain the vehicle speed. For further information on the TAC System, refer to Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System Description for the 3.5L engine, to Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System Description for the 3.9L engine, or to Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System Description for the 5.3L engine. The cruise is totally computer controlled and problems with the system will set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop . Cruise Control Inhibited The engine control module (ECM) inhibits the cruise control operation when any of the following conditions exist: • The ECM has not detected a brake pedal activation from the body control module (BCM). • A Cruise Control System DTC has been set. • The vehicle speed is less than 40.2 km/h (25 mph). • The vehicle is in PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, or 1st gear. • The engine RPM is too low. • The engine RPM is too high. • The vehicle speed is too high. • The system voltage is not between 9-16 volts. • The Antilock Brake System (ABS)/Traction Control System (TCS) is active for more than 2 seconds. • The EBCM detects a malfunction and sends a serial data message to the ECM requesting the cruise control be disabled.

Dealer, with VIN# and proof you own the car. Or buy a new key and lockset and replace it, then do a relearn. Doing it yourself, the cost for is relatively the same for both. Where I live.

Where is the heater core on 08impala and how do I change it

The heater core is under the dash between the middle of the dash and the passenger side. You will need to drain the radiator and remove the heater hoses from the inlet and outlet to the heater core under the hood. Once that is done you will need to remove the plastic covers inside the car to reveal the heater core. Remove the clamp that holds the core and replace it. Then just go in reverse and put the car back together. Use caution when pouring the antifreeze back in, don't pour it in fast or you will get an airlock and the radiator will knock and boil over when you start it up. Let the car warm up before you put the radiator cap back on so you can see if you need to add more antifreeze after the thermostat opens. Good luck
