Does the scanner show any other codes? Although you changed the TPS sensor,did you put in a new thermostat?

Do a tune up and if it's still a problem check your Iac or tps idle air control or throttle position sensor

If it is unresponsive to throttle changes it could be the throttle position sensor or maf sensor. Get some throttle body cleaner and follow the directions. Depending on location of the maf sensor you may need to remove it to clean it. Google search it and watch some video on it.

If your mechanic created this new problem after working on your car it would be up to him to fix the problem at no charge.

There is something drastically wrong with the transmission on your car and it is in your best interest to have a tranny pro look at it.
