(The engineers couldn't have hid these much better if they tried...)

1) Open the trunk lid all the way.
2) Look up under the inside top edge of the trunk opening.
3) You will see two 1" wide x 1/2" thick, black plastic knobs, about 1' apart from each other.
4) Pull straight back on a knob to release one of the back seat halves.
5) Go forward to the back seat compartment and lay each released seat the rest of the way down.
6) Paint the buttons white so the next person can find them easier!

Lock all the doors from the inside (with all the doors closed), unlock your driver's door by manually lifting the lock, then press it back down after you are out - this will prevent the alarm from sounding when you use the key to unlock the door.

this is probably a safety. no explosion, shut down. check to make sure no wires were cut/damaged and look in the trunk for an emergency shut off. there might also be a shut down relay onboard. if there is it's under the hood in the relay box.

setting the clock on a 2007 chevy cobalt;

question concerning a 2007 chevy cobalt;

I'm trying to set the clock, the manual that came with the car is for 2006; the instructions (no diagram) say to press the clock button (a button with a clock icon, parallel to the CD port on its left side), that should cause the clock to start blinking but that isn't happening. Also the ''information'' button does not seem to activate anything.

Thank you for any assistance. The Pale Scot

Hold down the clock button for at least five seconds then release the button. You should see a new menu on the screen to set your clock.

B0012 SAYS FRONTAL PASSENGER DEPLOYMENT LOOP. WHAT

2007 CHEVY COBALT LIGHT IS ON, SCANNER FAULT CODE IS B0012 SAYS FRONTAL PASSENGER DEPLOYMENT LOOP. WHAT THAT THIS MEAN

B0012 is a fault on the DRIVERS side, you sure you read the code right?
If it is a B0012 then any of the wiring could be suspect the coil or the air bag it's self. I have seen a couple of cars coming with this code and I found the wires coming out of the air bag in the steering wheel to be rubing where they go through the steering wheel into the colume, may want to check there first.
Report back if the code is something else so we can try and assist you.

I had this problem with a 2007 Chevy Cobalt. I changed the coolant sensor and even though the check engine light went out I still had a reading of "---" on the coolant gauge. The problem is most likely one of three things: a low coolant level, a bad coolant sensor, or the thermostat needs to be replaced. The only other possible thing it could be is a bad BCM (Body Control Module) which in that case you would most likely be having other weird problems.

The Thermostat and the sensor are both very easy to get to and replace. Take off the engine cover by removing the oil cap and they are both to the rear of the engine on the driver's side. They are right next to each other.

Hope this helps!

how to reset the check engine light on chevy cobalt

how to reset the check engine light on chevy cobalt

First, you need to narrow down to the problem; why did the warning go off? This can be done by going to any repair shop and asking them to run a scan with a code reader. If the light still does not go away, do not worry. It takes a while to register the change, it may go away within a week. However, if that does not happen, you can try these steps:
• Turn the engine on and off thrice in a row
• Disconnect the battery, let it breathe and reconnect again • Reuse an OBD reader, maybe there is a new problem

'No Vin' is on display of radio.

My 07 chevy cobalt radio quit working for about 1 week. Nothing would be read on display or power button would not work. We checked all fuses and everything. Now the radio say 'No Vin'. Is this the same thing as LOCKED? Will I have to take to Chevy dealership or can a mechanic do it with the right tools?

I can only tell you what worked for me. My daughter had our HHR jump started from the front instead of the back where the battery is. Unfortunately when she did the "NO VIN" came up on the radio screen so I read everyone's response online and since none of them worked I pulled the fuse cover off the inside passengers side and located the radio (15A) fuse think it was either 24 or 26 can't remember but the cover has a list of which fuse is for what. Anyway I pulled the fuse to check it and turned the car to the on position with the fuse out and obviously the radio didn't fire up at all. I turned the car ignition off stuck the fuse in and turned the ignition to the on position and boom the radio came back on. Hope this works for you as I am not paying the dealer another dime.
