Why have i lost power after installing a K&N pod filter on my 2008 subaru wrx imprezza

This new filter has probably affected the MAP/MASF sensor because the air flow has been altered . The word performance will be the clue so you may have to find a speed shop with a chassis dyno and have the chip remapped to the filter.

How to change engine oil in subaru wrx

First off before you do anything locate and know where your oil pan is and your oil filter. Your pan will be accessed from under the car and will have about a 9/16 bolt on it. That is your oil pan drain. Find your filter which will be most likely on the front right of the engine. Get a pan under the oil pan plug, take off your oil cap in the engine, and unscrew the drain plug. As it is draining take off your oil filter with a filter wrench. You will most likely want something to set the filter in when you loosen it (it is full so keep it upright as possible) Let it drain until all is out, replace the filter, put the plug back in and fill with the recommended amount of oil. Turn it on for about 15 seconds and then off. Check for leaks at the plug and filter and tighten if needed. The filter does not get "cranked down". Don't forget to put your cap back on the top side and you are done. Before you close the hood check to make sure the oil level is in operating range marked on the stick.

Starter grinding flywheel

If you had a flywheel replaced it is possible that it is not reinstalled properly. Check for engine vibration at idle . Check that the starter is in correctly. IT appears that the starter pinion is not meshing correctly with the ring gear and that is your noise . It goes after starting because the pinion disengages from the ring gear. The problem is a misalignment between the pin ion and the flywheel ring gear ( nothing at all about polished gears ). IT is all in the installation of the flywheel -starter and gear box.

2005 wrx 2.0 getting fuel to the rail but not to injectors or engine. cranking for about 30 secouns causes backfire in the intake but engine wont start. what could be the problem?

Well technically you have fuel in the engine if you are getting a backfire in the intake. I would say the fuel is getting thru the injectors. But maybe not at the right time.Has anything happened to the timing belt or cams ?

My 2008 WRX has 22K. The clutch peddle started

Subaru makes/sells a good product. Too bad you've had issues with the clutch in/of your WRX. Since you have 25 years of experience driving manual transmission car(s) you should understand that the problem can not be pinpointed without taking the component apart. Your vehicle is under the manufacturer warranty so Subaru should repair/replace the defective clutch. After the WRX is fixored sell it and buy another VW......Peace
