Intermittent loose of power with check engine light

Some of the possible causes for the P0420 check engine light to become lit include the oxygen (O2) sensor not working correctly, a damaged or leaking exhuast (pipe, manifold, catalytic converter) or a damaged catalytic converter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------super vag k+can

Check engine light came on, within minutes it "powered down" stalled, dies and will not start. What could cause this to happen? Did the turn key off/on to get code and "done" appeared.

HelloWhen the service engine soon light a yellow light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

I need to reset service light

You should be able to reset the service light by turning the key to the "run" position (do not start vehicle) and then immediately push down on the gas pedal to the floor 3 consecutive times and then start the vehicle... this should reset the service reminder light. when you push the gas pedal 3 times it must be done consecutively within about 15 - 20 seconds. Hope this helps...

2008 pt cruiser problems. At idle with Air Cond on get frequent RPM drop. 50-100 RPMs. Withour Air Condition on car idles fine (no drop) Also can hear a single click sound when drop occures.

The click sound would be the air conditioner compressor engaging, the engine will slow down do to the additional load. If it idles rough you probably need to think about cleaning the throttle body.

I have a 2008 PT cruiser; about three weeks ago the tire pressure light came on. When I went to fill my tires I noticed one of the tires would fill up to 30 then go down to 20 in a matter of minutes.

Check to see if the valve stem has been properly fitted to the rim,I see this happen all the time on a lot of cars, if the valve stem is improperly mounted it would cause the air to leak out hence you said it goes from 30 to 20 in a matter of minutes..have them all check just to make sure..if your rims are badly rusted which I don't think they could be on a 2008 but if they are that could also be a big problem, easy as switching the tires to different rims could be the solution..have them also check wear patterns to make sure the weight of the car isn't puttin pressure on a potential defect in the stem :) hope this helps..
