Sounds like the camshaft sensor is on the way out , the computer needs this info. to set the correct timing. once found the engine starts and is ok till the next start.

injectors are more likely the problem than plugs clean/ replace injectors and check fuel pressure at the injectors should be in the 50-65 psi range run the fault codes first always and save money

If this is a manual transmission then you need to have your clutch replaced the disc and flywheel are heat damaged. The other possibility is you have an engine cylinder misfiring but that would turn on a flashing check engine light.

fist gears work , but if you cannot get it into first gear with out grating ( normally reverse will be at fault also) then it is not first gear but a clutch activation problem if the gear is very noisy , it will be a clutch input shaft bearing or a problem in the bush/ bearing in the end of the crankshaft if the bearing is faulty then 4th gear will keep jumping out of engagement so check for air in a hydraulic system or a cable in a cable clutch
