Check your fuse box to make sure all fuses are getting current. This sounds like a couple of problems. Start by eliminating one item at a time.

check for a small screw at the base of the part that attaches to the windshield loosen it the mirror should slide up and off the shoe is glued to the windshield.

the the tail end (pipe)or induction , the air cleaner.aka. back firing the ACor muffler explosion.back firing to AC means timing wrong, cam or spark.muffler explosion is caused by 2 things.engine running rich as a pig.andcracks near muff and cat casing the explosion.BAM.

take it to a good shop and have the error codes checked. expect to pay anywhere from $0 (free), to $ 50, any charge should be applied to repairs

Try spraying the pulley with silicon spray, may help if lubed

possibilites 1, you still have air in system, 2, You put the thermostat in backwards.. 3. new thermostat is not functing properly.. remove it and check in a pot of boiling water.. you should be able to see it open just as the water boils. 4.Does it have electric fans? Are they running ? 5. Possibly a bad water pump. 6. possibilty a loose fan belt possiblty 7. Bad fan clutch if you have one. 8. A very obscure one.. The raditor hose collapses from the water pump suction.. that is why the hoses sometime have a "spring" in them.. Most likely.. Air in system or Thermostat problem..

take it in. all magic when bad , requires that or buy the FSM and read. you have 2 choices. get help or read the book. did you get a full scan yet, to see if there are DTC errors stored.

what goes where/??? are all you saying is it lands in the wrong spot? there are nozzle jets, they can be misaligned, clogged or partial clogged or cracked in half from ice up. only looking at it finds the cause. using cold rated, washer fluid for COLD ?

Would really like to help but iam clueless here as well,if i had motor in front of me and threatened it with my magic hammer then i might have a better idea ,reading your description over and over i think it may be a sensor on the auto box ?could be a wire off touching earth or a faulty temp sensor making it think its overheating causing it to go into limp mode or just shut down mode .No idea exactly where this sensor could be as all our motors are manual here in europe ,well 99% anyway

To every one here Jeep has a problem with the positive battery Cable, check battery first then replace cable with new one, the Jeep Commander is the best thing ever it will run forever and take a beating and keep on running

I don't believe they are lighted. I am 95% confident the criuse buttons don't light up. Did you just get this Jeep or am I wrong and they worked before? I really don't think there is anything wrong with your Jeep.

4.7 Liter

Did you got the fuel pressure checked.As you say it sometimes not starting and sometimes starting, this indicates that fuel pump is bit weak, its not letting fuel to the engine.Try spraying starter fluid to the throttle body and then see is it starting with starter fluid.When you face the no start problem like this at that time spray the starter fluid and see if its starting up right.If it starts then its fuel pump and filter issue.The pump is loosing its pressure.-------------But if the same no start problem with starter fluid too, then it can be air filter blocked issue or transmission trans-axle issue or shift bezel issue or it can be low tire pressure issue.----------

Looks like you may have a bad starter. It may be weak and demanding extra power to turn the engine over. That's where I would start. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Most of the time it's a windshield leak as the roof sould'nt have any holes in it except where the windshield is connected to the car body. Most do it yourselfers aren't experienced enough to remove and reinstall windshields so is best to call around to see who in your area does windshield work and if your in the USA and have Comperhensive insureance the company can remove and install the windsheild and charge your insurance for the work.
