Limp mode in 1992 dodge caravan
NO ENGINE told and huge engines get the huge torque rated transmission, no VIN code for engine told.
3 engines it seems 2.5, 3.0v6 and 3.3v6.???????/?
not the Dodge AWD option right with PTU?
the tranny is old. 250,000 + miles??????
the limpmode is to prevent super expensive damage to the trannys
clutch packs, ( VAST TCM DO THAT EVEN NOW)
it is saving its bacon, and also prevents car being dead, all gears slip.... a moving cars is far better than any dead car.!
ymmv
for sure. now you know the why
but 1992 is, old and HAS A TCM, and said TCM did this.
THE TCM IS 100% SEPARATE BOX.
back then we do not have OBD2 we had OBD1 and scan tools super
31 years old.,hard to find now Dodge only tools.DRB 1 UP
join a old Dodge real form
and find posters that know how to get the 1992 TCM to do flash codes
if can.
all 3 ENGINES ARE tcm SHIFTED (BEST I CAN TELL)
ECU DTC ERRORS ARE JUST KEY'D 3 TIMES TRICK GOOGLE IT
BUT DOES NOT DO TCM SORRY THE KEY TRICK IS ECU ONLY
ENGINE ONLY THAT.
it. many cars that year 3 transmission choices then new car.
and they are not the same at all
the 3.3L v6 has TCM and is PnP plug and play.
3,3L has 41TE box. with above TCM
see what I did here,is lookup engine see parts for tranny and see TCM there and name of box. all for free, AND I READ SM
SERVICE MANUAL 1992 THIS VAN
ok the 4banger has TCM too but is 30TE box 3speed not 4.
known speed is a huge help.
so google dodge caravan 1992, 41TE blink flash codes?
I SEE NONE.
ECU FAULT CODES ARE EASY TO GET. KEY TRICK.
GETTING 1992 TCM DTC ERRORS IS NOT EASY NOW
ABOUT 1996 MANY CARS ALLOWED OBD2 TO SEE BOTH ECU AND PCM AS ONE DEVICE,
THEY WERE E SERIAL LINKED THEN
BUT NOT IN 1992 .
THE KEY ON TRICK DOES WORK FOR ECU AND TRANSMISSION REAR vss1 SPEED SENSOR DEAD. JUST 1 SENSOR TAIL OF BOX
FACTOID #1
OBD1 FOR DODGE WILL NEVER WORK ON FORD OR GM.
OR THE REVERSE TOO DOES NOT WORK
THE SLOG OF ODB1 PAIN.
FINDING SCAN TOOLS THIS OLD IS NOT EASY
OR EVEN A SHOP THAT HAS OBD1 DODGE TOOLS AT HAND AND NOT LONG AGO WRECKED FROM 31 YEARS OF USE.
SORRY I CAN NOT FIND OBD1 TOOLS SOLD 2023.
FOR SURE TCM VERSIONS.
RE-SEAT THE TRANNY MAIN CONNECTOR DOWN UNDER YET
CHECK LEVELS OF ATF
THE DEALER USED DRB TOOLS WITH TCM PLUG-INS
HERE IS THE HISTORY ON DRB
CLEAR AS DAY AND GOOD AND VERY HARD TO FIND SHOPS WITH IT, BUT DO ASK THEM.

SuperCard1:
Bleeder screw for a 2011 dodge avenger 2.4 L engine bleeder screw for radiator.
to drain coolant or top burp the air out (bleed does not say which)
not all cars have such a thing, and is rare , on most
my jeeps have it. its pipe plug fitting top of main aluminum water pipe.
If present the service manual on all cars made
chapter cooling how to burp all air from the loop.
no job told , parts replaced
or simple drain and fill, the job dictates all action.
the service manual says to use the special vacuum
NO SUCH bleed screw is told.(air)
the words told there are:21 steps
Evacuating or purging air from the cooling system involves the use of a pressurized air operated vacuum generator
Brake lights and rear turn signals dont work in my 2008 dodge charger
If both the brake lights and rear turn signals are not functioning in your 2008 Dodge Charger, there are several possible causes to consider. Here are some common issues that could lead to this problem:
1. Blown fuses: Check the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the brake lights and turn signals. A blown fuse can interrupt the circuit and prevent the lights from working. Refer to your vehicle's manual to locate the specific fuse for these functions and replace it if necessary.
2. Faulty bulbs: Inspect the bulbs in the brake lights and turn signals to see if they are burnt out or damaged. If a bulb is not working, it should be replaced. It's possible that multiple bulbs have failed simultaneously, leading to both the brake lights and turn signals not functioning.
3. Wiring issues: Check the wiring connections and harnesses for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Faulty wiring can disrupt the electrical flow and prevent the lights from operating. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as needed.
4. Malfunctioning brake light switch: The brake light switch, located near the brake pedal, activates the brake lights when the pedal is pressed. If the switch is faulty or misaligned, it can cause the brake lights to not work. Consider having the brake light switch inspected and replaced if necessary.
5. Faulty turn signal relay: The turn signal relay controls the flashing of the turn signals. If the relay is defective, it can prevent the rear turn signals from operating. Consider replacing the turn signal relay if other potential causes have been ruled out.
If troubleshooting these common issues does not resolve the problem, it is recommended to consult a professional mechanic or authorized Dodge service center for a more accurate diagnosis and repair. They will have the expertise and necessary tools to pinpoint and fix the specific issue with your 2008 Dodge Charger's brake lights and rear turn signals.
1999 1500 dodge ram 5.9 no power to coil
12V power is provided to the coil through the automatic shutdown relay (ASD). The PCM controls the primary ignition pulse (which creates the spark) by grounding the coil based on inputs from the crankshaft position sensor and the distributor pickup coil.
Why is my 2013 dodge avenger 3.6L V6 still giving a cyclinder2 misfire after I have changed my coils, park plugs, and the wires
If you're still experiencing a cylinder 2 misfire in your 2013 Dodge Avenger 3.6L V6 after replacing the coils, spark plugs, and wires, there are a few potential causes to consider:
1. Fuel Injector Issue: A malfunctioning or clogged fuel injector can cause a misfire in a specific cylinder. Check the fuel injector for cylinder 2 and ensure it is functioning properly. It may require cleaning or replacement.
2. Compression Problem: Low compression in cylinder 2 can lead to a misfire. Perform a compression test to check the compression levels in all cylinders. If cylinder 2 shows significantly lower compression, it may indicate issues with the valves, piston rings, or cylinder head gasket.
3. Ignition Timing: Incorrect ignition timing can cause misfires. Ensure the ignition timing is set correctly according to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Vacuum Leak: A vacuum leak near cylinder 2 can disrupt the air-fuel mixture and lead to a misfire. Inspect the vacuum lines and intake manifold for any leaks or loose connections.
5.Engine Control Module (ECM) Issue: A faulty ECM can incorrectly trigger a misfire code. Consider having the ECM scanned for any error codes or anomalies related to cylinder 2.
2007 Dodge Charger 6.1 A/C won't take a charge?
As Larry Ng states that is TOTALLY the wrong way to do it and TOTALLY the right way to wreck the system. If you can't do all this in this order, take it to a garage that does A/C!
Recharging a Vehicle Air Conditioner System.
Your vehicle AC not working as well as it did. You buy a couple of those refrigerant gas cans and a gauge from the Auto Shop, and think, I'll just add a couple of cans?
You can't fill an AC unit by guesswork. You also need the specified amount of compressor oil if you replace the compressor itself. This is how it's done. First you pressurize the system with inert nitrogen gas and check for leaks. Then you use a recovery pump to suck out all the gas into a recovery tanks until you have a strong vacuum. Then you put the gas bottle onto a subtractive scale. You Zero the scale (Tare) open the valves on the gauges and run the engine. As the gas leaves the scale, it add UP on the scale in Grams or Ounces. Always add as a gas, don't turn the tank upside down to add liquid gas as it will hydro-lock the compressor. The EXACT weight of gas is specified for that vehicle. It has to be right within a couple of grams. Not enough gas and it doesn't vaporize in the evaporator, (the part that turns liquid to gas in the dash area and creates cold. If there is too much gas, it damages the compressor as there is no room for the gas to vaporize, because the system is full of liquid gas on both the high side and the low side of the compressor.

1998 dodge dakota How to change air condition actuator where is it located
those are A/C distrubution box under dash actuator dampers
all cars made are different locations
there are 3 or 4 of them. temp/mode/ recirc,
its not stuck in heat mode so the blend damper is ok/(closed)
mode is busted.
feed and Def ok
but front vents dead you say? if yes does heat work to front vent too?
blend in cable drive so is not that.
OH OH< it has VACUUM controls, a pain that. locking hand vacuum pump to test all that.
to work on this take a real service manual and HVAC chapter
covers HVAC vacuum controls at the dash, test by test.
the valve on the dash control is vacuum
in need vacuum to it to work
and the vacuum out of mode set to dash vent? goes to dash vent
vacuum servo the colored hose tell that.
if the control sends vacuum to a colored hose in Vent mode
then follow that hose the vent servo .
the secret is here, find out which one is for front vent servo
and follow the correct color to the correct vacuum actuator servo
then test it.
I do not have the color hose secret.
the actual damper ,we do a leak down test on all of them
they crack the diaphragm inside and go dead.
this may be same

2007 dodge caliber stalling n jerking, replaced cam position sensors, o2 sensors oil light flashes but oil full?
what engine is there.? Is this a
USA car?
NO VIN told. engine codes, and transmission.s
No miles on the car or engine, 250,000??
????????????????????????
1.8 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.0 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.0 L VW I4 (TURBO diesel)
2.4 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.4 L World I4 (TURBO gasoline)
cranks and starts all the time.
stalls how fast. 1 to 10 seconds if yes, is IMMO lamp failing?
does engine fail
in PARK too is the CVT transmission failing in DRIVE.? of 4 transmissions used. if only jerks in drive , CVT is sick.
check all fuses yet.
scan the PCM for SURE when jerking (engine Misfiring)?
If the engine is failing (50 causes)
does it have 16 year old
spark plugs?>
16 year old COP boots, all nasty and carbon tracked bad.
oil lamp , there are 2, one is pressure loss and 2nd is oil nag timer
we cant see the icon of the lamp to know.
the real oil lamp comes on at any stall doing the cluster self test
if the engine RPM falls below 800 rpm do to gross misfiring
the real oil lamp sure can and will come on.
real mans not silly OIL NAG, << we ignore that.
can the stall be voided with a fast right foot>.?
parked or in drive?
safe if engine misfires, (heard or felt) in PARK.
so we can cut the job in 1/2 (diagnosis)
is this request for guessing>?
- or testing, and if yes test willing to buy tools to find it?
- the conundrum here infinite is TEST OR GUE$$?
- or get the car serviced in a shop that has the tools.
your call.
2006 Dodge Dakota 3.7 automatic will not crank
there are 6 to 8 cause of no cranks
posted them vast time here even added tips and they all failed.
battery cables x3, 2 lugs each end , 4 lugs loose or rusty or both.
then comes jumper cable jump starting any car.
call AAA CLUB tow say jump me or buy your own cable sets.
or load test the cars battery now.
ok battery good and charged
- key switch bad. some cars the IMMO cuts cranking so the IMMO lamp is always looked at first (chevy trick but who knows?)
- next PRNDL switch bad. car cranks in park and neutral both so try Neutral as the uses guide states,. and does.
- starter relay bad.
- Starter is bad. (we hot wire test in key in pocket , ask)
- all wire to all things stated above bad.
the hot wire starter test passing prove battery and starter are good
and hearing this
https://freesound.org/people/drdeath666/sounds/687447/
note the speed of starter ,if super slow the PCm and spark and fueling can fail at 10vdc, battery under load.
so all shop makes sure the battery is good first.
or jumper cable jump it as the cables instructions state
and NEVER CONNECTED BACKWARDS OR BOOM GO BROKE.
IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN! THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS GONNA TAKE MORE THAN AN AVERAGE MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE! Is there anyone out there that can?
all those words and not one photo posted of the damage to wires.
pulling the battery under the hood kills the alarm dead.
no NOT need to do damage,*or just unplug the nasty horn"
2000 Dodge Durango
cars are very expensive to operate, and hard work too if DIY.
function box JB fuse 1 is horn. easy no? and horn relay next to it.
JB under hood box. goes directly to battery main.
VTSS , VEH, THEFT AND SECURITY SYSTEM
IS FULLY AND DEEPLY INTEGRATED TO THE WHOLE CAR.
AND ENGINE TOO (TO START /RUN THE ENGINE)
IT IS NOT SOME CHEAP SIMPLE DOOR SWITCH ALARM, AT ALL
A TECH SOLDERS BACK ALL CUT WIRES, AND USES HEAT SHRINK TUBING TO DO THAT AND MATCHES WIRE COLORS END TO END.
THE TECH THEN SCANS THE PCM TO FIND DTC, ERRORS
TO ALL OF VTSS, ,BAD DOOR SWITCHES ETC,
BAD IGNITION KEY. ,CAR CAME WITH 2 KEY LOST THE 2ND?
ALL FUSES CHECKED TOO, F1 PUT BACK WHEN ALARMS END.
THE VTSS LAMP ON THE DASH DOES NOT LIE.
THAT IS IT.
IT TAKES TOOLS TO FIX ANY CAR, FOR SURE SCAN TOOL AND DMM METER,
KEEP THE GUY WITH CUTTERS AWAY FROM YOUR CAR.
OR $$$$$$$$$$$ HAPPENS.
