Our volvo 2004 C70 convertible
when you open drivers door on side of the dash with door open theres a fuse box the fuse for convertable blew it needs replaced it should have diagrahm on back of the cover it tells you which on is the convertable

First off, go to AutoZone and get the code scanned. They'll do it free, and will give you the fault code. Post that up and we can take it from there.
Just to ponder - have you checked the mass airflow sensor? If it's giving erroneous reasons it can cause you to fuel the engine incorrectly.

sorry these things are tempremental and its a dealer only job because if you touch the motor it will never work again .i tried one once and because i didnt get it right i moved one of the motors manually and it had to have a new motor so now i look and tell someone where the dealers are

Seats with manual tilt mechanism use a spring an a wire to release the back of the seat so it can be tilted, over time the wire breaks or comes loose.
To fix this, you have to remove the two bolts in front of the seat base and the two on the back. all you need is a ratchet or wrench 13 or 14 mm. Then remove the seat from the vehicle or if you can turn it in a way that you can look underneat, you'll se the wire I am talking about. You can either fix the wire or if broken, replace it with a piece of steel wire same size and thickness. Any wire with this characteistics will work.

Milage between cambelts?
Mileage on timing belt, depends on year ? make (volvo) model (c70) and engine size?. heres a couple of mileage readings,the 1998 c70 with a 2.3 turbo engine is due every 70,000 miles. the 1999 -2001 c70 with 2.3 turbo is due every 105,000 miles. the 2002- 2004 c70 with the 2.3 engine is also at 105,000. the 1998 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 70,000 miles. the 1999-2001 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 105,000 miles. the 2002- 2004 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 105,000 miles. god luck hope this helps.
My Volvo C70 - 2002-
There is a plastic piece that holds the return spring for the switch on the seat back release. When this piece breaks, the switch can't indicate that the release is back in the lock position. You will have to take part of the seat apart to replace this piece. There could be something else causing this problem, but this is the most common.

problem with this car. I parked o my garage and after 3 month I go to start the

make sure the shifter is all the way in park and the button on the shifter is not stuck in. If that is all good it could be a shifter cable stuck but is most likely a bad ignition cylinder (not switch).

Hello. Get a can of WD40 at any auto parts store. This is a lubricant and a rust dissolving product which will lubricate your moving parts and they will be much less resistant. Spray all of the places where the metal is connected to other metal with in the top. Repeat as necessary until the top is fully operational again.

electrical fault ??but not sure where or what long time since i worked on 40tonners,sorry but when i repaired them the ford transcontinental was around and DAF and atkinsons with the legendary gardner engine.only suggestion i can make is make sure the back of the dash is earthed properly
Steeering creaks on full lock.
Grease the stops under the car. They are supposed to have little plastic caps on them but they dry up and fall off.That leaves a rusty stop sitting there and it squeeks when you go to full lock.
Just apply some grease on it once in awhile and you should be good to go. Thanks and I hope this helps....Dan
