The check engine light came on. Checked the diagnostics. Says it's the EGR Valve, but I can't find it on my truck.

Some dont hav one like a ram. Buy a haynesbook for upkeep. At pepboy etc. Egr valves r not always bad..wher it attachs on the xhaust may be. If u can blow thru it..carbon is minor. If vehicle stubbls wen slowin down or idle...its calld a hiddin vacuum leak

2007 gmc yukon has security light blinking and hood open warning indicator light on but hood is closed. have reset battery and security system will not shut off

The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM. (Theft Deterrent Module) The TDM is what tells your computer that the correct key is being used and that it is "OK" to allow the vehicle to start and run. These 3 parts must be in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending important signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, (normally due to a failing/broken part) the car goes into antitheft mode. The car misinterperates this and thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is NOT getting that signal from YOUR specific key. There is where the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. So basically, if that light is on, your system has some sort of failing part. This can start as an intermittent "no start", to your vehicle not running for days at a time, to the vehicle NEVER starting again. The problem is electrical and computer based, so don't count on an easy reset button, or the problem fixing itself. The hard part is isolating which part is the problem. You can spend a thousand dollars through a mechanic very easily. I have had great luck with bypassing the entire system. This way the problem will never return. It actually CAN'T ever return because it is eliminated. This can also be done yourself at a much cheaper cost. Read through this link very carefully. You'll find alot of information and pictures, along with ways to help you fix this. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Column shifter not working

Under the shifter you'll see a small plastic plug. pop it off and insert a screwdriver and push up on the switch. This will release the shifter. Check to see if you have brake lights, if you do that switch needs replaced. If not replace the brake switch.

Why is the heater in my GMC Yukon not blowing air?

If the blower motor is not running, check fuses, then ballast resistor. You can use a jumper to the motor to test it. Only other item is the switch.

Where is the starter on a 2007 Yukon

On the passenger side, two bolts to remove it. then pull it down and remove the two wires connected to it. If you don't have radio/nav codes, I wouldn't pull the battery off. You can still get it off, just watch the big wire, try not to ground it.

Won t start first try

Most likely it is your fuel pump anti-drainback valve not holding fuel pressure in the line while sitting overnight. Try turning key on and off a few times slowly, then crank to start. If it starts talk to a dealer parts person and ask him what you need to fix it . . .

2007 yukon, lift gate will not open electrically or manually?

You should still be able to open itmanually? Unless the lock is not functioning. There may be a plastic plug that pops off on the inside of the liftgate panel so that you can open it. You have to remove the plug and then move the lever with a screw driver. All that being said most likely have some broken wires in the boot at the top of the liftgate where it connects to the body. These wires tend to break from constant flexing when the liftgate is opened and closed. Either way you have to get the liftgate open to inspect them
