well.... yes and no. A cam shaft is just a counting sensor that tells the computer the position of the pistons so it can control fule and spark for the best performance, if the battery is corroded and the car is vibrating it is very well possible that this sensor may not be getting enough power or gaps in it. But thats a stretch so assume they are different issues. Replace the battery and go from there or just clean it off its its still some good. good luck

Just a guess, but your transmission might be throwing out a code that there is an issue with it shifting into 3rd gear. I would suggest taking it to a repair shop that is capable of scanning the computer to figure out what the issue is...

Check the heater valves in the engine compartment. This is a solenoid valve that allows the hot coolant to circulate through the heater core. Hope you have not used radiator stop leak or anything like that since that can plug the heater core sometimes

Where is the cable broken? Check the pull lever inside the car hasn't broken as you might be able to get a pair of grips in to pull the cable.
If it is further forward there is a lot more work needed. It involves getting into wheel arches and removing the front grill sections.
I recommend you take it to a Good bodywork specialist. They will have all the correct tools and knowledge to sort it out.
