Transmission not down shifting, RPMs continue high from 3rd to 2nd. If I put into park it jolts. I turn it off and it will work fine then no down shift again when I am trying to stop

Look at the transmission control module and/or the shift solenoids inside the transmission.

When tryings to jumpstart my 1999 cadillac seville sts i seemed to have lost all power to the car where do i start looking to solve prolbem

Battery , battery cables to starter solenoid and to the under hood power distribution center (fuse box) . Should have a B+ cable from battery to fuse box . Use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Find a wiring diagram for power distribution at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html also watch videos on basic automotive electrical testing on youtube .

Anti-theft system transceiver ? Theft Deterrent System The Theft Deterrent System on this vehicle is comprised of two separate systems, the Personal Automotive Security System (PASS-Key?® III) and the Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system. These system are described and diagnosed separately within this section. For CTD operation, refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description . SECURITY Indicator The yellow indicator SECURITY on the instrument cluster is controlled by both the PASS-Key?® III system (VTD module) and the CTD system (RIM). ?€¢ PASS-Key?® III system, the VTD commands the instrument cluster to control the indicator only when the ignition switch is ON.

?€¢ CTD system, the RIM commands the instrument cluster to control the indicator only when the ignition switch is OFF. PASS-Key?® III System The PASS-Key?® III system is designed to help prevent vehicle theft by disabling the engine unless an ignition key with a specific electrical value is used in the ignition lock cylinder. 1999 Cadillac Seville STS. Why won't it shift?

Check that your brake lights are working, they must for gear to be engaged. Also, it might be a gearbox issue. Matbe the selector has gone wrong. If it is staying in only one gear, are any of the lights on the dash illuminated that were not so before..

What type catalytic converter do I need and approx cost for repair.

Your vehicle has 2 catalytic convertors. The replacement used should be one made expressly for your vehicle. Cahoots told you that a convertor is defective? You may only need an O2 sensor.

How to remove glove compartment door

You need to remove the Glove Box first. Open the Glove box, there are usually three screws at the front bottom of the box, and two at the top. Gently pull the whole box forward and turn/pivot the box to the left. There will be some plug-in wires you need to disconnect... don't worry they only connect a certain way. Your box should be free now. You'll need to remove the screws (usually four) on inside door plate to detach the door stops (those curved parts). On the bottom front of the box you should find the screws that attach the door, via the hinges, to the box. Assembly is just the reverse order. It's not a quick process... so take your time.

I HAVE A 1999 CATILLAC STS I HAVE THE LINE OFF AT THE FILTER GOING TO MOTOR BUT DO'NT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO FIT THE FILTER REMOVEL TOOL COMING FROM THE FUEL PUMP. ANY HELP YOU COULD GIVE IN THI

I have run into this. Some one at some point has put the wrong filter on. You will have to get one of those plastic line removal tools and cut it. You need to cut off the semi circle pieces to shove into the line fitting. Take the pieces and show them into the fitting. You will need a couples of angled Picks to get them all the way in to release. You will also need three hands to make it a bit more easier. They su(k at best, but it can be done. Be sure to get the right filter. Or look and get one with a long nipple on each end..The nipple is about 2 inches long on both ends...

1999 Cadillac STS OverHeating !!!

A blown head gasket or intake gasket does not always put coolant into the oil or produce smoke.. If the gasket blew between an oil vein and coolant vein then there is a possibility that your actually pushing the oil into the coolant side.. When the car is cool... look at your antifreeze and see if it has the oil slick look to it.. That being said it could be a head gasket or it could be in the intake as well..
