2002 Cadillac Seville SLS - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I ment a 2002 Cadillac sevile SLS won't go into reverse??
If the vehicle will not go into reverse, you are having a transmission issue. Check transmission fluid level and condition. If fluid level is correct but fluid is burnt or watery, immediately have fluid and filter changed but don't expect a miracle... it may or may not fix the issue.
You may be looking at the need for a transmission rebuild.
How can I tell if I have a faulty wheel speed sensor on 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS
One possible cause is that these systems remember values from the last time the vehicle was started. Sounds like sitting for a long time is caused unacceptable differences between current and last readings. This is possibly because of a vehicle attitude change, often due to a low tire pressure. Modern low profile tires are very sensitive to pressure changes - pressures tend to drastically change with changing ambient temperature and will deflate over time.
Also try starting the vehicle more frequently - that is needed to keep the drive train and electronic systems in good working order.
How do I reset the a/c modes?
its not programmable.
the modes are controls by dampers, those are controlled by the dash controller, HVAC.
the FSM cover these tests. so does ALLDATA.com
IN CHAPTER HVAC.

are all modes dead.? (direction, and recirc?)
Starter wont turn over
check battery terminals and posts are shiny clean and tight. Have a load test done on the battery to check for dead cell.
Electical failure
What you have written seems strange. I understand that the vehicle stopped with ALL ELECTRICAL... This is a broke wire, Grounded to the Chassis, When you tried to Jump Start it, WHAT got HOT? Did you cross the Leads? I would be looking at the Wiring for where the Positive is now grounding out.
Ground straps 2000 Cadillac Seville sts
Are you sure the engine is not grounded? Could be the starter relay. To make sure it is not a ground problem use a battery jumper cable and connect the engine to the negative battery post. Also make sure the battery did not lose its charge while working on the belt. Possible key left on.
