If fluid level is correct but fluid is burnt or watery, immediately have fluid and filter changed but don't expect a miracle... it may or may not fix the issue. its not programmable. the modes are controls by dampers, those are controlled by the dash controller, HVAC. the FSM cover these tests. so does ALLDATA.com IN CHAPTER HVAC. its lots of pages, i cant post them. check all fuses does blower work on high , is only one vent bad? or all vents dead.?? are all modes dead.? (direction, and recirc?)

check battery terminals and posts are shiny clean and tight. Have a load test done on the battery to check for dead cell.

What you have written seems strange. I understand that the vehicle stopped with ALL ELECTRICAL... This is a broke wire, Grounded to the Chassis, When you tried to Jump Start it, WHAT got HOT? Did you cross the Leads? I would be looking at the Wiring for where the Positive is now grounding out.

check your owners manual i believe it is regular power steering fluid

Are you sure the engine is not grounded? Could be the starter relay. To make sure it is not a ground problem use a battery jumper cable and connect the engine to the negative battery post. Also make sure the battery did not lose its charge while working on the belt. Possible key left on.
