The body and frame of the car is the "ground" . A lot of the connections are exposed to ? Road salt. Corrosion is probably the number one culprit with bad connections. If you have had any starting problems (very cold) I would start with the battery to ground connection to the frame. Trace ground wire from the Battery Negitive terminal to the frame. There are a number of other ground connedtions I even had one from engine to frame that improved emmisions results. A very bright flash light in the dark make tracing easier. I like the new LED lights.

These devices are on separate fuses - the fuel access door and the trunk release are on the same fuse, and the backup lights, the inside rearview mirror and park assist are on the other fuse. So, if you don't have any issues with these other devices, you have two separate problems to check. The only thing these two symptoms have in common is the wiring harness between the rear fuse block and them, so you may have a wiring problem (severed wires) there. I would suggest first checking the fuses anyway (under the rear seat) and measuring the voltage at each of the device's connectors in the trunk. If those check out, you probably have burned out bulbs and a sticky door actuator. You have to remove the entire rear license plate bezel to get at the bulbs, and you can check the manual release on the door to see if the solenoid is ceased.

Some problems are intermittent. If the engine check light is now off (except momentarily when you turn on the ignition and start) and staying off, just drive on.

Do you have a meter or test light so I can walk you through some diagnostics? If not try swaping the high and low beam relays. The relay may click when activated but that doesn't mean that the contacts are good inside the relay. It is much easier to swap the relay if you don't have any test equipment. Sometimes the low beam relay is bad internally and replacing it solves the problem.

Check your fuse box for broken fuses. Otherwise, disconnect your negative battery terminal for maybe thirty minutes, reconnect and see if warning lights stay on. It could also be a pre-set maintenance reminder to force consumers to get dealer service which would be 'reset' by disconnecting a relay.

try changing your thermostat. It may be stuck closed and will not allow the coolant to flow through, in which will cause it to do that.Good Luck Bud!

Are you sure the engine is not grounded? Could be the starter relay. To make sure it is not a ground problem use a battery jumper cable and connect the engine to the negative battery post. Also make sure the battery did not lose its charge while working on the belt. Possible key left on.

Is it stuck in the engine "off" position? 1.) Check your car battery. If it's very low or dead, it may be preventing the ignition from unlocking. If it's low or dead, charge it and try again. 2.) If the battery checks out okay, press firmly on the "S" button (sport mode) next to the gear shifter. Surprisingly, that somehow solves the issue sometimes. 3.) If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the ECM. But try the two steps above first as needed, and if that doesn't work, feel free to post back.
