I am not sure how much RM360/= is in my currency but it does sound expensive for a connecting lead i-pod to usb.
If your lead works ok with other usb sockets in other cars, I suspect there is nothing at all wrong with the lead. That would indicate a problem with the car.
The only comment I am able to make about this is as follows...
A friend has two sons and one son is very interested in cars and had bought some very good software to allow him to troubleshoot and modify his cars.
My friend had bought a SEAT car. The car used many VW parts and software - his SEAT was in effect a cheap VW Golf but did not have the refinements of the Golf such as auto-opening/closing windows.
Purely from interest my friend and his son connected the laptop to the car and discovered all the Golf refinements were built in but switched off and they were able to use the advanced software to simply switch them on and turn the car into the more expensive VW Golf - except for the SEAT badges and trim.
Perhaps someone forgot to switch on the usb refinement on your car?
