Engine sounded noisy & scratchy when i drove

after the vehicle cooled completely and all the oil drained down it showed half full? that would mean it was anywhere from 2 to 2.5 quarts low? unless you mean that it showed halfway up the full / safe area on the dipstick.

the oil light being on usually means low oil or low oil pressure, if the vehicle still doesn't try to start after it is completely cool then you might have a locked up engine or multiple problems, check the oil again now that it has been sitting awhile look for water in the oil also check for oil in the water.

check battery connections again, make sure they are tight, if lights and such work then try to get a jump from someone. even new batteries can go bad

I would definitely be worried about that oil light though.

good luck and I hope this helps.

Toyota lucida under normal breaking the breakes

Firstly, why are you pumping the brakes to slow down. If its because the brakes are not efficient, then they need to be checked and repaired. Secondly, it will reduce the braking efficiency to near enough nil, if you are pumping the brakes, doing that, exhausts the vacuum pressure that gives the brakes assistance.

Side door wont open from inside or outside ??

try taking off the inner trim card off the sliding door, and putting your hand inside to see if you can feel the little moving plate that the locks operate, its connected to a slim steel rod and if that off it wont open. You may need to butcher the door card if the door traps it when shut and it wont come off with it closed.

Toyota lucida estima td wont start on could mornings

It may be the starter motor contacts which are worn. I have done this twice (on 2 different estima's myself. The starter will not turn or not properly. New contacts for these Denso starters are available on ebay from nipponnev for about £10 delivered and take about 1 hour to fit. No need to buy another starter. Hope this helps. Regards, Paul

It has to be jumped started ,once that is done it

If starting fluid has been used on it in excess, what happens is it fractures the compression rings enough to lower the compression making it hard to start, therefore running the battery down. Once it starts for the day the metal expands in those fractures from the heat and seals. Then when its cools they contract, causing low compression again. If you do a compression test while it cold then again after it warms up it will tell the story. May not be good news, but it may stop you from doing un-necessary repairs.87f3a84.png

HOW TO REPLACE A HEADLIGHT BULB ON A TOYOTA PREVIA

Replacing a headlight bulb for Toyota Previa. Quite simple. Open the hood. Look for the black plastic coupling or ring on the backside of the headlight. Grasp and turn counterclockwise (i believe it will be about a quarter turn). pull the socket out, then replace the bulb. I believe it is code #9004. Strongly recommend replacing both headlights at the same time.

Good luck

Cutting out/slows down as accelerating

try changing the fuel filter, and adding a can of SEAFOAM to the tank. EGS(ethanol gas syndrome) is the biggest problem for this. the injectors fuel filters fuel lines, and emissions are full of goop and water. This happens because of the corn in the gas. Try that first. Make sure you add some Premium gas to the tank at the start. after this, add SF every 3-5000 miles to keep this from happemning again. SEAFOAM is at any parts store.

Toyota Ipsum/Picnic, 1997, 2L, 3S-FE.

HI. you will need to preform a test on the fans to confirm the issue. i suggest using the procedure below.

Step1
Check for broken wires or loose connectors around the fan circuit. Inspect connectors at the fan motor, relay, sensor or heat sensitive switch, and the Electronic Control Module (ECM)--your car’s computer control system. Also, make sure to check for a possible blown fan fuse. These are common and overlooked troublesome spots that may cause a fan to fail or become erratic.
Step2
Run and bring the engine to warm temperature. With the engine running, use a voltage test light to check for power to the motor fan. Be extra careful and make sure to keep your hands and tools away from the belt, fan or any other engine moving parts. If voltage is reaching the fan motor, the test light should glow.
Step3
Turn off the engine after you see the light glow. Apply direct voltage to the fan motor from your car battery using a pair of spare wires. If the fan fails to operate, replace the fan motor. If the motor operates, your problem is in the motor connector.
Step4
Locate the heat-sensitive switch or heating sensor if the fan motor operates with direct voltage and the test light did not glow. You should find the sensor in the radiator, engine block, or thermostat housing.
Step5
Measure the resistance across the heating sensor with the multimeter. With the engine at cool temperature (engine off), it should register infinite resistance; with the engine at warm temperature (engine off), you should read low resistance. If both readings state infinite resistance install a new heating sensor, that’s the cause of your failing fan.
Step6
Check the action of the fan relay if the heating sensor is registering variable resistance. Your service manual should specify the power and ground wires according to color codes and the proper way to test it. If the fan relay fails the test replace it with a new one.
Step7
Check the connections going to the ECM after you determine the fan relay is working properly. If you find broken wires or loose connectors, make the necessary repairs. If you suspect a defective ECM take your vehicle to a service shop for a computer analysis. In most cases, the ECM is rare to be the cause of a failing fan. The above steps should take you to the root cause of your problem and help you fix the cooler fan.

I have a '94 2.4ltr manual previa with 207,000 on

If I can get your question right, the squealing sound is occasionally on when you start your engine and lasts for a while.

In a case like this it is likely to be that you need to make an adjustment on your fan belts and if adjusting the belts does not help, you might have to make a replacement on the belts.

In case of DTY, the belts are usually connected to your alternator, ac compressor and adjustment pulley.

Good luck.
