Sounds like you have a leaking head gasket maybe. Does the smoke have a sweet smell to it? If not it is oil or fuel.

You should be ok. There is no way to tell if the belt is going to last however they generally will last longer than the recommended change interval.

Not sure but sounds like low oil pressure, you need to stop and check the oil level

its a Diesel, so fuel filter clogged if only cold start fails, GLOW PLUGS dead.(or weak) takes a strong battery, is it?

The common rail is a pipe - rail - that supplies diesel fuel under high pressure to the injectors, which are activated by the on board computer. The rail pressure is supplied by an oil pump separate from the pump that supplies oil to the moving parts of the engine. Rail oil pressure is that pressure that pressurises the fuel.

If this occurs only with first gear fault seems to be a selector problem. check gear lever bush otherwise internal gearbox fault. Do check oil level and bleed hydraulic system.

check power to brake light switch. if no power then try to trouble shoot and restore power to brake light pedal switch

You have a major task in front of you .The wiring and computer are not the same. get the computer and wiring loom from the donor engine vehicle. You will have to rework the exhaust system ,cooling system, transmission and drive shaft, rework the front suspension springs because of extra weight. Do check with the main roads department or other body as they may refuse to register or insure it.

Not difficult just dirty donkey work involved ,best advice is to put it in a garage unless you have the right tools

try turning a tight corner you will feel a surging or tightness in steering , if you have some where safe off road in light sand or grass just for a split second gun motor to get wheels to spin and stop to see if all wheels spun or just rear or front and rear.

Remove No. 1 spark plug turn engine over till you feel compression on No.1, line up marks on crank pully and timing gear cover , fit distributer making sure rotor points to No. 1 on dist.cap rotate distributer till contacts just start to open .start engine and reset with timing light.
