A/t 96 vit. hot and gold engine;/trans both? slow upshift. the most common is this.:

1. TV cable to box is jammed at any point of cable or kinked.
2. low pump pressure in the box or filter in box pan clogged.
3. scanning the TCM shows errors ignored? oops
4. the OD lamp flashing odd , means TCM errors. so get them.
5. normal is the shift lever, rocker switch (?N?P?) normal or power shift mode, power shift mode delays shifts for sure. so switch it back.

you cant bypass it,call your dealer,if we knew how to bypass it,,everyone including car thieves would know

tell him to get it fixed. or buy the FSM and do what it tells. run the tests, on the system. 2.0 L RF I4 (diesel this is a MAZDA engine. based off their FE. so you can either buy the Suzuki fsm and read about it or read up on the mazda TDI controls. id check compression first. head lights.? on?hot or cold engine, ? both?i guess? you are parked, and in neutral, and the engine stalls.the #1 reason for stalls is a stuck open EGR main valve. clean it.there are other reasons, but above must be good to proceed.others.motor running way lean, diagnose that. use a scan tool , you in USA?

what gear box, there are 3 or4.3/4/5speed and transfer case.?what tranny what box.does it make noise parked.?or only moving>stated all modes of travel , with and with out noise.neutral is one.does running free mean coasting.on mine i have 5 forward gears, reverse,neutral 2wd./4H and 4L.lots of modes.

Need to hook up a set of gauges and watch the low side pressure. If it drops to 15 psi and the clutch cuts out then you may be low on freon. If the high pressure goes to 300+ and the clutch cuts out then you have a problem with the ac cooling system.
