Two part answer, firstly the glow plug light. The glow plug light on a Ssangyong will only illuminate if the ambient temperature is low enough for the glow plugs to require heating. I did not believe it when I first heard this but sure enough, on the first frosty morning I had the truck, the glow plug light came on for a few seconds. Don't worry about it, the temperature needs to be really cold before it will come on.Secondly the no-start issue, I had a similar problem with my Ssangyong Rexton. Unfortunately, it is the injector pump, the filter gets clogged with micro-particles of crud. Take it to a diesel pump specialist (as a Ssangyong dealer won't know what to do in my experience and they will charge $000's to fix) and get them to remove and clean the injector pump.

Sounds like the thermostat on the radiator has something flowing thru and jamming it - Do a water flush with chemicals to clear out the junk. and buy new thermostat - about £6-8 max refill with water and antifreeze to improve cooling efficiency - 2 days before flushing put cleaner fluid in the radiator not the overflow bottle as it may not get sucked up. Then do the flush after a day or two as all the gunk will be in suspension, and should fix it.

If engine light comes on you have a code in the computer. Go to AutoZone or similar as soon as possible after light comes on and get it scanned. This will give you a idea what is wrong. I think it will be a faulty ECT sensor (engine coolant temp). How do you know that coolant is only at normal operation temp?

Follow top house to an engine should be knee which goes to an engine block.

Have you lost the little glass transponder unit out of the key - about 3mm diameter and 1cm long, its the main part of the key & security. I've the horrid Star trek Cobra keys and they pop open losing the unit - £100 to get replacements and car towed to garage. Reset the keys also by holding both buttons for 4 seconds till the internal led ( microscopic hole in the fob) flashes and resets - do it with a key in the ignition and drivers door open.

Hi Peter, Can you confirm which radio you have and also type of phone, Iphone, android or windows -etc. Do you want to play music through the radio or is it just the phone connection? Sounds like you may need to look at the bluetooth frequency's used ie 4.02 and 4.04 - if you can go into sub-menus on bluetooth settings there is an option usually to 'use another voice connection' or something similar - it sounds like one or the other unit is using 4.04 and the other 4.02 - so they connect but the audio element isnt syncing together - Check 'about' bluetooth on your phone - it may tell you if it uses 4.02 band or 4.04 - I would suggest if you knock all settings to the older 4.02 , then things should sync up fully - its the older technology standard, - hope this helps.

Your vehicle is a rather sophisticated one. I don't recommend DIY. Your dealer or a very reliable repair shop should review. It may be as simple as bad electrical connections to sensors. But it could be serious problems. Prevention now may solve serious problems later.

Change the batteries of the key fob or chnage the car battery

Hi Belida, I'm very happy to be in Africa. Cold here means wearing my shirt buttoned up till about ten. I believe that the transmission may need to be diagnosed and the fault codes erased. Have that done and I believe it should also tell you of any other fault which may have affected the box, if any. I believe a simple reset will do the job for you.
