A slow shutting of the clutch ist somewhat normal if you jumpstart the Smart 450. But it could be improved by teach in the clutch or replacing a weared down clutch or a stucking actuator. Another possible improvement is replacement of the front motor bearing. In this case build in the stronger bearing of the diesel engine.

fitting wheel spacers to wheels is not a good idea . You will have to fit longer wheel studs and this weakens the stud as you cannot go up the stud diameter as is required to maintain the stud strength. The studs will snap under side load when cornering and that will leave you in a spot of bother. Next you will experience the same problem when off set rims were the thing to make the track wider . Looked smick but unfortunately the load was transferred from the larger inner bearing to the smaller outer bearing which was incapable of the extra load and so burnt off the stub axle . Chrysler and ford vehicles suffered most from this problem and is was mostly at speed . You will also have the problem that when you do this the tyre is closer to the mudguard edge and when you hit a bump or turn the edge of the mudguard will tear the tyre apart. . Consider why you want to do this and how much you want to come out as there are rims with the negative off set that will widen the track a lot safer with less problems.

are you sure doors and boot and hood if you have one are really closed properly? The boot can often not close tightly enough. Does the system click when you press the key?

yes it is 2 plugs per CYL. one on the top and one at the bottom. you can remove the upper plugs from the top and the bottom ones from under the car. After removing the cables with the special tool , so that you will not damage the wires , just remove and replace the plugs

You have to be careful with that , as you need a special tool to remove the wires , other wise you might damage the plug wires. But if you can remove the wires , rest is easy , just remove the plug and replace , BUT MAKE SURE THAT THE CAR IS COLD when you do that
