Repair manual for a saab 95 1999 2.3t. need to replace the turbocharger.
It is fairly difficult to remove especially if there's a lot of rust. Bolts tend to break instead of coming loose. The 2.3t turbos are known for failure, they are the smaller of the two turbos. The Saab's with the larger turbos are labeled 2.3T -notice the capitol letter T instead of t. They are interchangeable and I highly recommend installing the larger if you want the repair to last. Get you practice removing the one at the junk yard before you work on your own. Oil lines and coolant lines will require some slight re bending/shaping to fit in place of the smaller turbo but it will be well worth it. Instructions could be handy but not necessary for most mechanics. Online Saab forums would have detailed instructions.
Blue smoke after being driven for awhile
if you can then smell the smoke. if it smells of petrol you will need a tune on your car ( getting too much petrol ). if it has no smell or very faint then it could be your head gasket. (water getting to the head causing steam ) worst case would be piston rings expanding through heat and letting oil through ( smell of oil burning ) check oil filler cap and dip stick for white gunk/check exhaust for water dripping out. these are head gasket signs
Engaged Shift Lock Override; shifter knob is now completely free floating and won't re-engage.
Not familiar with this car but the service manual may give you some help. Most libraries have subscriptions to online automotive service manuals for almost any year, make and model of car, motorcycle, or whatever. If you have a library card, some will give you the u/n and p/w so you can access them from your home computer, if not then you will have to go to your local branch to get access, but it is free!
