Engine overheating warning sign flashes up
Have you checked it since you added water? If it is still warning that it's overheating--and you know for sure that it is NOT--it's probably the thermostat--very cheap to replace.
I have done the headgasket on my rover 75 with new piston
it keeps over heating coolant comes out of header tank but my heater remains cold and pipes going in and out
Check if u have a heater full blast if u get a hot air comes out to it.....if not then water is not properly circulated it doesnt cool the engine if thats ok then check the pump and thermostat and try ti feel the return line of the coolant to the radiator if its gets hot or warm to touch (located on top part of the radiator) means if its just warm water is not circulatibg properly I dont have experience on 75 rover im just telling u how the coolant cools the engine or how does the system flows and its applicable to all cars that has water cooled engine there one exception the air cooled volkswagen hope this might help u out have patient.....lastly did u flush the system after u installed the head gasket? How do you remove door panel on rover 75?
1st off remove the plastic moulding inside of the door release ,undo the small screw,at the bottom of the door there are 4 screws[usually pozy drive] undo them, prise off the bottom part of the cover [the door pull arm]inside there is a large pozy screw, undo that, then using a medium screwdriver or a small pry bar placed between the door panel/door,prise away the panel section by section, beginning from the bottom, until you have unclipped all the plastic retainers, then gently lift away upwards,do not drop,as you have to unclip the door release cable from the back of the door panel, making sure to remember how it is sitting on the door panel and the lever,so to ease the re-assembly.

Signs of a clutch going out
If gbp is what I believe it is, you have been terribly taken advantage of. Tell the chap to sell his tools and open up a fish n chips. Honestly, you have paid enough to have the problem fixed. It sounds like the hydraulics are failing and that's a mattervofca master and a slave cylinder with a piece of steel tubing connecting them. If you bleed the system and it works for a while you are getting air in the system. I would never pay for a car that wasn't fixed!
