2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Questions & Answers
I have a 1989 mitsubishi eclipse USA import can't get spark to the spark plugs replaced coil which is in distributor and replaced the distributor still no spark can anyone help ?
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your 1989 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Here are a few things that you can check to try to get spark to the spark plugs:
Check the spark plug wires: The spark plug wires can become damaged over time, which can prevent spark from reaching the spark plugs. Inspect the spark plug wires for any cracks or breaks. If you find any damage, replace the spark plug wires.
Check the spark plugs: The spark plugs can also become fouled or damaged over time, which can prevent spark from reaching the spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs and inspect them for any damage. If you find any damage, replace the spark plugs.
Check the ignition coil: The ignition coil is responsible for generating the spark that ignites the fuel in the engine. If the ignition coil is faulty, it can prevent spark from reaching the spark plugs. Inspect the ignition coil for any damage or signs of wear. If you find any damage, replace the ignition coil.
Check the distributor cap and rotor: The distributor cap and rotor are responsible for distributing the spark from the ignition coil to the spark plugs. If the distributor cap or rotor is faulty, it can prevent spark from reaching the spark plugs. Inspect the distributor cap and rotor for any damage or signs of wear. If you find any damage, replace the distributor cap and rotor.
If you have checked all of these things and you are still not getting spark to the spark plugs, it is possible that there is a problem with the engine's computer. In this case, it is best to take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
Here are some tips to help prevent these problems from happening in the future:
Change your spark plugs and spark plug wires according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Keep your engine clean and well-maintained.
Avoid running your vehicle on low fuel.
If you notice any problems with your vehicle's performance, have it checked out by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.
How do I adjust the
Do you have the 4G37 or 4G63A or 4G63T? if you don't know.. that basically means do you have a 1.8, 2.0 SOHC, 2.0 DOHC, or a turbo-charged engine? I have an '05 Evo and i small screw on the throttle-body near where the intake connects to it. If you turn it it changes how high the engine will rev while its idleing. I'm not sure if thats what you mean because if not you may have to take it to a shop and get it recalibrated.
02 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT throwing codes for all gears not synchronized. Have changed fluid and gasket and all sensors. What else could be the problem?
no dtc codes posted
zero joy.
we can't just guess them. ok?
the TCM sees errors and can not shift
or TCM sees engine problems that prevent upshifts.
not told a real problem (beside codes vague)
PRNDL
so tranny fails in all gears R and D and L?????
or only is dead in Drive????
or will not upshift from 1,2,3,4,???
or flares (false neutrals) at 2nd gear or others?
or stuck in 2nd gear.?(in drive)
car is DIP,dead in the Pavement.?
tell all the engine does and tranny good and bad. both
there are list of
on car checks.
- fuse good. all.
- level good hot and filter in box not missing, never overfill any A/t box. or foams up and fails hard.
- scans show DTC codes, all matter post them.
- tranny linkage not bad or not adjusted correctly
- last test is tranny pump pressure port tests with hand gauge 300psi) in PRNDL all selections per the service manual.
- no bad wring from TCM (PCM) to tranny. or there connectors. rusted.
Eclipse goes into reverse but wont go in drive.
Friend, start the engine and let it run a few minutes to warm the trans fluid, set the park brake or block the front of the wheels, put the car in drive position and check the transmission fluid. Sounds like it's just too low for the pump to pick up enough for a forward engagement. Reverse doesn't take much to activate the servo. Most automatics are this way. I'm sure you'll find the fluid is way low and needs the proper fluid added. This may mean you have a slight trans fluid leak.
2000 Eclipse GT turns over
Hi, if the car turn over, and it don't start. Then it is like the
engine don't get fuel. Or bad a spark plugs. Most common problem is the
fuel pump going bad.
It could also be a bad fuse, but a easy way to check if the fuel pump is
ok is to have someone stand at the back of the car when you turn the
ignition. The fuel pump should make a buzzing sound for a few seconds.
And if you don't start the car right away the fuel pump will stop.
If you don't hear any buzzing from the fuel pump/fuel tank then you have a bad fuel pump............
