Noticed a bit of smoke coming from under the hood. Opened to look and it seems there's oil next to the valve on my turbo.

Does turbo need oil? Very much so. It has parts spinning at 30,000 rpms or so, and the bearings require oil to live. Clean cool engine thoroughly, and then run engine to find leak.

I noticed little smoke coming from the right passenger side wheel after using breaks. I lifted the the car and took off the wheel but it feels a bit tight to rotate the disc.

Front or rear? The Sounds like the caliper might be sticking. Is the wheel getting hot? The rear brake has the emergency brake incorporated in it. You need a special tool to retract the caliper it spins it back in while it presses. Take the caliper off and clean and lube the guide pins with a grease for brake parts like Permatex 24115 Ultra Disk Brake Caliper Lube High-Temp Silicone. If rusted, replace the parts. Make sure all the rubber protectors are in good shape if not replace them. They keep moisture from rusting the brake parts. If the caliper is frozen, just buy a new assembly and install it. Mine did the same thing. I took a sewing needle and cleaned out the hole in the sprayers, which had calcium buildup or something else. You can also redirect the spray nozzles at the same time. Hope this helps.

New brake rotors overheat

Hi Steve. As you said you did replace the rotors and pads. Did you have problem before replacing the rotors or just to renew was? The reason I am asking is just to see whether the problem was there and before. Now, if you had the same problem before renewing and after renew you still have the problem, just go back on your car, jag it up putting it on stands, turn the wheels an see which one is tight on turning. If is just one, open the bleeder to release the pressured fluid and turn the wheel,if is turning free, just get in the car and apply brakes after turn the wheel and if you do have stiffness, you have a faulty brake hose inside the flow hole. Just renew the faulty brake hose. If you do not face any hose failure, renew the brakes Master cylinder. Good Luck.

Break caliper pushed forward

You are talking about the piston being pushed out? #1. Put a piece of wood in the caliper and push the brake pedal again.. remove the piston all the way. clean the caliper bore, replace the seal(caliper rebuild kit usually really cheap) carefully reinstall the piston.. sounds like it is either "cocked and stuck or the caliper has a ring of rust at the top of the bore. either way clean and reinstall the piston. possibilty #2. Take a "C" Clamp and force the piston back in.. if you do this take an old pad and put it between the piston and clamp to protect the poston.

Hello, i press the ignition button and the car does not work. The ignition coil just run for less than one second then the engine service light turns on. Do you have any idea what can be happening? Do

Many people have trouble starting the mini. Once my girlfriend almost missed her flight because she couldn't get the rental started. That being said, here are some easy fixes: 1. Make sure your foot is on the break when you try to start it. The car won't start without foot on the break. 2. Replace your battery: batteries don't work well in cold weather, old batteries work worse. Try jump staring your car, and/or call AAA or someone to come replace your battery. They are pretty cheap, and the toe truck guy will replace if for you. 3. Other than that, ask a pro?

Swapped seats but heat not working - f56 mini cooper s

Are the connectors actually wired the same? Check the wiring diagrams for each seat if you can find them, otherwise trace the wiring from the internal components in the seat to the connector and make sure the heaters are going to heater power pins in the original harness, and temperature sensors are going to temperature sensor pins (temperature sensors may be polarized, that is, it makes a difference which pin goes to positive and which to ground).

Why does the yellow engine light come on and go off with times? I am driving a Mini Cooper S, 2010 Model

To be sure you need to hook up a scanner and read the code when you see the light on. It's not unusual for Mini's to do this for a couple of usual reasons. One is due to the Oxygen sensor getting a short term reading that is out of the norm causing the light to come on. Various things can cause this including Injectors, mechanical condition, o-rings, even fuel changes from one station to another can trigger this on cars. It goes off later because it's a temporary issue and the car adjusts itself after so many starts. One other reason is the fuel cap not being tightened properly, that usually is fixed when you refuel and retighten the cap properly or just tighten the cap.
