It is a key issue most likely, try unlocking the car and taking a little more time to insert key into igniton than you normally do to see if that works. It can be a coding/timing issue in the anti-theft logic and most times replacing the key is all that is needed. otherwise it is the EIS acronym for electronic ignition switch which is a major control unit for the starting and anti-theft system.

oil change, check all fluids, rotate tires, fuel filter, check all filters, check valce clearence, (what book says), check brakes, check cooling system and flush cooling system

You need to read the codes. I had a plugged cat that turned off all the cylinders on one side of the engine.

Check fuses.

Have you changed tge trans filter in the box as yhis could also xause this as ifvits blocked or dirty it can restrict the flow of oil

No defenatly not its just so happend this has gone at the same time cheapest fix is to do a full transmition oil and filter change the mechanics of a mercedes are normally bullet proof cannot say the same about modern electrics there rubbish lol but i would try the filter change first

Try the test further up the same wire as it might be a brake further up the line dont think there the same as bmw though

crank or camshaft sensor

First remove passenger side under dash panel. should be about 4 or 5 #20 torx head screws to dropo the blower out of the system.

Check wiring harness.. could have a break in it... causing it to stop firing..

If you hear a click while turning the key this would indicate low charge in battery any reading under 12 on a tester would have trouble starting other than that loose battery leads have you tried jumping if it starts with a jump this would indicate battery.

You didn't say when it doesn't start whether the battery seems discharged or whether the dash lights and headlights and stuff remain bright and functional? If they do but the engine won't crank, there is a problem with the starter circuit. In that case the fault could be a relay, wiring or any connection, a faulty starter switch or the immobiliser not disarming (try using a different key). I would rig a temporary starter switch from the battery to the starter solenoid so I could crank the engine on the occasions it didn't start. If it still didn't start I would suspect the immobiliser. If it is a case of the battery seeming discharged when it isn't the fault is with the battery circuit. I had a similar trouble once and eventually traced it to a bad crimp where the battery cable was attached to the battery terminal. It looked normal until I cut it off and sectioned it with a hacksaw. Of course it could be something else entirely...

Could be a bad sensor. Have the onboard computer scanner for diagnostics codes.

the normal range for charge is 14.5-14.8 so 14.26 is probably the voltage dropping off as the battery is charging A point to note here is that there is no battery life for batteries and that is why they have a warranty some will last 5 years and the same brand ( to compare apples with apples) will last 1 day so I would take the vehicle back to where the battery was installed and swap in under warranty for a new one
