How to remove dash panel
DIY? I recommend repair manual from your auto parts store, or
filepeep.com if they have it , or manualslib.com
Headliner on my sunroof has fallen down. It is a 2009 Lincoln MKX. How do I fix it?
You will need to remove the entire headliner, being careful not to crack the foam it is constructed. You will need to remove all the plastic door pillar covers, any clothes hangers, the dome light, etc.
You can purchase headliner fabric and adhesive at most fabric stores. The personnel there will assist you in getting the correct adhesive. You must remove all the old headliner fabric and backing pad material to get to the foam core for installation of the new headliner fabric. Lay out the fabric and cut it to size, allowing for some overlap in case you err slightly when positioning it. You will apply the adhesive to the foam core and to the back of the headliner fabric. It is a contact-type cement. Carefully position the fabric over the foam core and work from the center out to position it, being careful not to trap wrinkles or to stretch the fabric excessively. Trim off the excess and reinstall headliner.
The lighs on the inside will not turn off
I'm not certain on your specific car, but if all the doors are closed, and the interior lamp switch is off (the dimmer for the dash lights), they should turn off. You could have a defective switch (long shot), or a short in the wiring, or the delay circuit that keeps the lights on for a time is defective. Without a diagram and some expertise in electrical circuits, this is a job for a real DIY or an auto electric shop.
Back seat
Possible catch or cable fault. Try removing the rear of the back seat for access to the inner workings. This can be tricky on some models.
My 2012 Lincoln MKX only blows cold air from the drivers vents and only blows hot air out the passenger vents regardless if I have the ac on or heat on. Please help.
bad blend or mode damper door motor actuators. is cause (maybe)
we know how to move them by hand motors off (actuators)
hot all the time is blend unless AC compressor is dead.
yes blend doors can jam fully to hot, sure can.,
It needs service, there are other causes.
most of the tests you can not do. or easy.
there are 2 systems here.
- the blower distributor system. (dampers 3 or more0
- or
- the AC R134 loop dead or weak.
what I do is make sure the compressor runs
and if does,
move the blend door by hand (my jeep has built in self test of this)
and by hand I put the damper to evap core only mode and if no cold air now, the loop is bad and I stop here, lots more tests from hear.
or he AC condensate drain is clogged even covering up deeply evap core . blocking is air flow., and super common this and a simple fix.
Mouse made it's home inside
I blocked the front air intake with steel wire mesh. They still were getting in. A few days later I pulled off the bumber Ann noticed all four rear vents were chewed open. I added the steel mesh on the rear vents and the problem is solved.
Electrical problems
tack battery cable loose from battery for 5 minits then put battery cable back on battery and restart tye the trunk shut with a rope to take it to mechanic friend to check lock
The inside lights will not shut off
There is a control on some Dome lights which override the door sensors. The headlamp control on some dashes will turn on the interior lights if they are turned to one extreme direction.
