the knob is usually screwed on like a nut the chrome ring under the knob is usually the lock nut so if you turn it down the lever a bit the knob should screw off normally Some are held on with a very small grub screw in the bottom of the knob in which case you will have to undo the grub screw to get the knob to come off next suggest is to go to a service dealer and ask how to get the knob off.
