Check light on for kia opirus 2008

Scanned the PCM; If the check-engine light comes on, here are some tips on what you should do:- Look for a serious problem that requires immediate attention. Check your dashboard gauges and lights for indications of low oil pressure or overheating. These conditions mean you should pull over and shut off the engine as soon as you can find a safe place to do so. On some cars, a yellow "check engine" means investigate the problem, while a red "check engine" means stop right now.- Try tightening your gas cap. This often solves the problem. Keep in mind that it may take several trips before the light resets. Some vehicles have a separate indicator that warns of a loose gas cap before the condition sets off the "check engine" light.- Reduce speed and load. If the "check engine" light is blinking or you notice any serious performance problems, such as a loss of power, reduce your speed and try to reduce the load on the engine. For example, it would be a good idea to stop towing a trailer. Have the car checked as soon as possible to prevent expensive damage.- Contact OnStar, if available. If you have a 1997 or later General Motors vehicle equipped with OnStar and an active OnStar subscription, contact an advisor who can read the trouble code remotely and advise you about what to do.- Have the code read and the problem fixed. If you want to diagnose the malfunction yourself, you can buy a scan tool at most auto parts stores. Prices range from about $40 to several hundred, depending on the model and the features. The tools come with instructions on how to hook them up and decipher the codes. But unless you have a good knowledge of automotive diagnostics, you're probably better off taking the vehicle to a professional. Some automotive parts stores will read and interpret the code for you without charge. Unless there is an easy fix, they may simply refer you to a mechanic.- Don't go for a state emissions test. In a late-model car, an illuminated "check engine" light probably is a sure sign your car will fail the test. In some states, it's an automatic failure, even if the problem was nothing more than a loose gas cap. By the way, don't bother trying to fool the inspection station by disconnecting the battery or using any other method to erase the trouble code and turn off the "check engine" light. Your vehicle's computer will let the inspection station know that its codes have been erased, and you'll just have to go back again.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

2006 Kia Amanti. Where is the TCM located on a it? I have a vague location, looking for more details.

what engine is in the car? size and if Gas or Diesel. well the service manual covers all that and more. some cars have no such module at all. as back in 1996 the trend was to move the TCM into the ECM box and call it a PCM. insome cases , like diesel transmission option they had to put in a TCM to make t work no country told, no VIN TOLD so I can decode the drive line codes. there is no generic photos of these parts. each car is made with options, and the parts match that only. Unique photos yes. 885 A/T Control Relay - Open Or Short To Ground the glove box users guide under fuse ,should show A/T control relay location and is fuse #6 near by. I was right, there is no TCM the TCM is part of PCM. clearly the relay is hidden well. inside car, on top of tranny hump goes to 3rd gear stuck, fail safe it tells in the FSM 885a-undefined-undefined-0.jpg 885b-undefined-undefined-1.jpg

My Kia picanto 2005 model 1.1 is overheating but it can run for distance and thereafter it automatically switch itself off

If you are not sure what you are doing when repairing a car get a qualified repairer to do it for you. The most common reason for overheating is a bad thermostat in the cooling system Get that checked and replaced if it's bad. they're usually cheap to buy. The Spark plugs will not cause overheating. What exactly do you mean by "tried to change the spark plugs"?

2020 kia Sorento 2.4 liter Clicking sound on the driver side when turning

possible reasons for this issue: CV Joint Issues: The clicking sound during turns could be related to the constant velocity (CV) joints. These joints allow the wheels to transfer power from the transmission to the wheels while maintaining flexibility during steering. If a CV joint is worn or damaged, it can produce clicking sounds. Inspect the CV joints for any signs of wear, such as torn boots or visible damage. Wheel Bearing Problems: Faulty wheel bearings can also cause clicking noises during turns. A worn-out wheel bearing may produce a clicking or grinding sound. Check for any play or looseness in the wheel when jacked up. If you notice excessive play, it's likely that the wheel bearing needs replacement. Suspension Components: Inspect the suspension components on the driver's side. Loose or worn-out components, such as control arms, bushings, or sway bar links, can create clicking sounds when the vehicle turns. Steering System: Check the steering system components, including the tie rods, steering knuckles, and steering column. Damaged or worn parts can lead to clicking noises during turns. Brake Caliper Issues: Sometimes, a loose brake caliper or worn brake pads can cause clicking sounds. Ensure that the brake caliper bolts are properly tightened and that the brake pads are in good condition. Axle Shaft: The axle shaft connects the transmission to the wheels. If there's damage or wear on the axle shaft, it can result in clicking noises. Inspect the axle shaft for any signs of damage. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and address the issue: Visual Inspection: Jack up the vehicle again and inspect the components mentioned above. Look for any visible damage, loose parts, or signs of wear. Test Drive: Take the car for a test drive and pay attention to when the clicking sound occurs. Does it happen during slow turns, sharp turns, or both? This information can help narrow down the cause. Professional Inspection: If you're unable to identify the issue, consider taking the vehicle to a qualified mechanic. They can perform a thorough inspection, diagnose the problem.

Where is the starter location for 2007 kia sportage 4wd ?

It will be mounted in the bell housing that connects the transmission to the engine. commonly on the back of the engine tuck somewhere it will be a pain in the tailbone to get to. The easiest way to find it is to go to the battery and follow the large Red cable down towards the engine. It will connect to the solenoid switch that is mounted on the actual starter motor.

2019 Kia Picanto Automatic won't start on a cold start

Have any of the following been checked out and tested or cleaned? TPS - throttle position sensor (an oscilloscope is the best way to confirm) IAC valve (Idle Air Control) - a dirty or sticking valve will cause problems with the proper amount of air entering the engine, especially at idle Dirty throttle body - throttle bodies develop carbon buildup and that will affect the airflowing around the throttle plate, affecting idle and acceleration. Those are just a few out of many possibilities, but those should be ruled out by testing as the culprit of the issues.
