2002 Hyundai Getz - Page 6 Questions & Answers
No reverse
Hello Gerald,
Are we talking about an automatic or standard transmission?
If you have an automatic check the transmission fluid level (Owners manual should provide some details for check the transmission fluid level)
If the fluid level is okay check for a burnt odor (not good). If the fluid level is low follow your manuals instructions on bringing it up to the correct level...although I have to say it is usual to have a leak without noticing some fluid under where you normally park your vehicle via a transmission pan gasket failure.
Does your vehicle provide forward motion when put into gear?
If it does I'm afraid your off to the transmission shop.
Disable hyundai getz alarm
To disable the alarm on a Hyundai Getz, you just need to bypass the hood switch. The alarm circuit thinks the hood is up and will not go into the Arm state.
The switch connects the single wire connected to it to ground when the hood is up.
So you can just connect a wire from the back of the switch to ground. You can fit a switch to enable/disable the alarm if you wish.
This is equivalent to just locking/unlocking the car manually with the key.
Cam bearing
it depends on the condition of the cam journal were the bearing rides. if it scored then the cam needs replacing and the other bearings should be looked at closely and find the reason for the damage before replacing or it will cause damage with the new parts.
