Check fuel fill inlet
If the check fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message
comes on, the fuel fill inlet may not have properly closed. The inlet may
have stuck open or debris may be preventing the inlet from fully closing.
At the next opportunity, safely pull off the road, turn off the engine,
open the fuel filler door and remove any visible debris from the fuel fill
opening. Insert either the fuel fill nozzle or the fuel fill funnel (see
Refilling with a portable fuel container for funnel location) provided
with the vehicle several times to dislodge any debris and/or allow the
inlet to close properly. If this action corrects the problem, the check fuel
fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message may not reset
immediately. It may take several driving cycles for the check fuel fill inlet
lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message to turn off. A driving cycle
consists of an engine start-up (after four or more hours with the engine
off) followed by city/highway driving. Continuing to drive with the check
fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message on may cause
the service engine soon lamp to turn on as well.
WARNING: The fuel system may be under pressure. If you hear
a hissing sound near the fuel filler door (Easy Fuel "no cap"
fuel system), do not refuel until the sound stops. Otherwise, fuel may
spray out, which could cause serious personal injury.

Electrical short
"REPLACE THE BATTERY". My son bought one of those and had the same problem. Crossley Ford milked that for a week that they kept it at the shop supposedly looking for phantom problem instead of replacing the battery as requested, finally all of a sudden they decided maybe the battery should be replaced. Problem solved... off the record I have heard the rumor thousands of those cars had defective batteries placed in them from the factory so maybe it is poetic justice when the dealers milk the warranty like they do for a problem that they already know what it is when the car comes thru the door. It's still the pits for the customer and the inconvenience that it causes them. YES, I know they CHECK good, they really are not. That is a problem that is a lot more common than people realize.
Where is the evaporative emission vent control valve located on a 16 ford fusion with the 2 liter turbo engine
I'm going to assume for simplicity's sake that you're talking about the evap canister purge solenoid, I've heard it called the vent control valve several times before, but technically we call it the evaporative canister purge solenoid, and it's located right in the center of the engine compartment at the back right next to the throttle body. The valve is held on with two 8-millimeter hex head bolts that need to be removed when replacing it. Next, unplug the electrical connector at the top of it, lift up on the tab and then pull out on the connector. Now You have to disconnect the vacuum line going in at the bottom of it. Take a flat blade screwdriver and push it in a little bit on one of the tabs on the side and then pull the hose off. There is an o-ring on the bottom of the valve they can stick a little, just wiggle it while pulling up to remove it.
