My truck gets hot and wont start till it cools off
It has to do with returning to the "cold start sequence" or its a coil problem. The engines run so lean that the fuel mix is too lean to start unless the engine resets to the cold start sequence. Try a little starting fluid (very little) to see if the engine was fuel starved and now starts.
You might need a new temperature sensor if the starting fluid helps. But if the starting fluid does not help, it sounds like a "heat-sink" problem with an electrical component. Without the engine circulating water or cooling air from the fan blades, an engine can exceed the normal operating temperature, especially with the catalytic converters heating everything under the hood.
You might try opening the hood when you park it (I know its not very practical) to see if it shortens or eliminates the restart problem.
How to install flywheel ford f150 6 cylinder engine
Pull drive shaft 4 bolts next pull transmission cross member 4 bolts pull transmission lines 2 pull all wiring 2 pull transmission inspection cover 4 bolts pull transmission 6 bolts pull flywheel 6 bolts install new and reverse process
Won't start after ignition switch is released
One of your wires is on the wrong side of the starter solenoid. You need to get a test light and figure out which wire goes to the coil and trace it back to the solenoid, switch it from the starter post to the ignition post and you should be good.
