I had the same trouble with a Renault Megane. After reading on forums it turns out it only needs pulling upwards. Mine was well and truly stuck on but did eventually pull away. Citroen, Peugeot and Renault seem to share a lot of characteristics. If in doubt ask a citroen dealer and just persevere with it.

The Spark Plugs are located under the Coil Packs on the Engine. you have to remove the Center panel and then 4 coil packs under it.
