motor possible short /dead spot or over heated

I am totally wrong here no doubt but this fault sounds like a bad connection on a multiplug harness somewhere under the bonnet in the engine compartment

I had the same problem.when I used my main key my car wouldn't start and I got the message "anti theft faulty". The key and the remote still unlocks and locks the doors and turns the lights on/off but it just wouldn't start my car. I was able to start my C3 by using the spare key. The main key is still faulty and if used brings up the same message.

These locks don't work like traditional mechanical locks. It's just spinning as the lock and key are designed to do it if a wrong key is used. Original keys can become too worn to engage the mechanism inside it making it spin the same way. Try these basics. Do you have a spare key you could try? Is there a key slot in the passenger side door you could try? Could you get to the driver's seat through the side or rear doors? Have you tried spraying a fine oil into the lock to lubricate it. *NOTE* Do NOT use WD40 as it is not an oil. I would suggest something like GT85 or 3in1 spray.

Please note: fault code F40A is recorded when the oil level has not been measured, or when the temperature of the engine coolant is higher than the set threshold. Please be sure to check your fluid levels as low oil or coolant could result in the engine over-heating and burning important gaskets resulting in irreparable damage.

Disconnect your battery! Remove the old wite from the battery supply end to the far end. Replace it in the reverse order connecting the battery supply end last. Reconnect your battery.

It's due to discharged battery. Charge it using external charger or use jumpstart cables.

well. why have only just one fob>? the fobs die at 10 years old easy. the buttons inside ,mine failed now 2times. 2015 to now. mine. the buttons have switches in mine, gold plated and the gold now looks like shot gun blasted. (under a microscope) as in END OF LIFE worn out. all fobs do that. or battery new is bad or battery in backwards or battery clips bent or rusty never have only one fob. (or land here x)

Question edited for clarity. The only way to diagnose strange things like that is to get an auto electrician to look at it. His pro grade scan tool computer can diagnose the functions of the ECU and all electronics.. folks out side UK have no clue what my51 plate we use the VIN to learn what year it is. and engine,and what country sold to. is dash heater blower dead? on even high? speed? test 1 of 10 . or so. test 2 does pcm scans show ect at 180 to 200f temp? google 200f to C and get your answer. test 2 do both fire wall hoses, to heater core feel super hot, hand flays off? i not both the core is clogged if all hoses water feel cool they are and thermostat bad or missing
