Question edited for clarity and spelling of Rhythm. Question moved to model category. The car is in Limp Mode. It gives just enough to get you to a garage. The ECM deems the fault can seriously damage the engine and is normally a fault with one of the main sensors. The only way to diagnose is to connect a professional grade scan tool computer to the OBD2 port and read the DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes). They start with a 'P' and have 4 numbers. try WD40 squirt in lock or buy new bat for fob

Depends what wrong with it ? i cannot tell you from afar without seeing it as to the problem let alone the cost so consult a local mechanic to investigate the problem for you then i tell you what it should cost

take a look at the fuse box under the bonet you will have lots of small fuses and 2 or 3 push in plug connecters pull them out and have a look to see if water have got inside and started to rust the pins. thats the push in plug connecters not the small fuses.

The only thing I can think of is that this make uses an electric lock actuator and the key just turns on a switch, with no battery power no lock action.

You remote (plip) needs new battery: CR 0523 (3V). After a change of battery, it may be necessary to re-initialise the remote control. To do that, switch on the ignition and immediately press "lock" button on your remote control to trigger the action desired. This may take some ten seconds.

If you check your engine fuse box and find that your 20amp fuse is blown its either a sticking starter relay or water getting in your electrics. Try checking this first as the fuse box is directly above wheel arch and can get damp. Clean up green contacts and keep a spare 20amp fuse handy. After changing this blown fuse you will need to reset the engine management system by disengaging the battery terminal. You're clocks might be out but car will now start. Don't forget to buy that starter relay if problem persists.

The most likely location for it is up under the front, left wing between the front wheel and the bumper. You might need to take the wheel arch liner out to get to it. If it's not there check the wheel arch on the other side. Another common location is behind the front bumper mounted on the bodywork crossbar between the radiator and the front grille.

These locks don't work like traditional mechanical locks. It's just spinning as the lock and key are designed to do it if a wrong key is used. Original keys can become too worn to engage the mechanism inside it making it spin the same way. Try these basics. Do you have a spare key you could try? Is there a key slot in the passenger side door you could try? Could you get to the driver's seat through the side or rear doors? Have you tried spraying a fine oil into the lock to lubricate it. *NOTE* Do NOT use WD40 as it is not an oil. I would suggest something like GT85 or 3in1 spray.

Please be sure to check your fluid levels as low oil or coolant could result in the engine over-heating and burning important gaskets resulting in irreparable damage.
