It is not unusual for the parking brake cable assembly to seize due to corrosion. Also, the rear brakes are self-adjusting when backing up and can eventually wind up by themselves until they lock up. Start by removing the rear wheels and checking the brake shoe assemblies. Due to the age of the vehicle, this can be quite a chore, as the brake adjuster may have to be manually backed off before the brake drums will come off. Also, if the brake cable is seized, you may have to remove/manually loosen it as well. It is a part that needs lubricating periodically so it works freely, and may need to be replaced.

The headlight switch contains a circuit breaker for the headlights. You would need to know if you have power in and out of the headlight switch for the headlight circuit. You may need a new switch.

No relay that I know of.On 1970s models the headlight switch had a circuit beaker built into the switch for the headlight circuit.If you have power to the headlight switch and nothing coming out of the terminal for the headlights the circuit breaker may have died.You would need to replace the switch.

Leon- I have a question to you about an old post you replied to about a RCA CC311 Camcorder. I inherited one, seems ok. But i not sure how to operate it. Not sure I wanted to buy a manual for $17 for it tho. Can you advise if/why I can't see anything through the viewfinder? Cam turns on, I don't have a tape in it tho. Thanks!

when did you see all this work well., last week, month ,year,decade? 1990 is old car and also vastly more simple than todays cares with cluster on a CAN_BUS network but will read the SM to you on this car. try the problem is manuals are so rare on cars that old there are 10 lamps in the cluster warning, are all 10 dead AC/heat blower dead?, is a fuse or controls or motor dead. and not related to cluster. digital does what.? odometer? id say if all gauges there are dead, that power to the gauges is dead,or the related grounds 18PIN CONNECTOR REAR. AND UP TOP 1MORE CONNECTOR THAT MUST BE CONNECTED IT HAS NO SPEEDO CABLE SO IS DIGITAL. blower works on high or not? not told at all. blowers do not blow outside,but the recirc damper does decide the blowers input port path , outside fresh air or INSIDE air RECIRC. then there is hot and cold is hot air dead set to hot.>? if not the engine must be hot, 180 to 200f . scanned. PID ECT sensor. if hot there I put hands on both heater core tubes, both are hot. 180f , hand flies off hot. if yes core is hot and blend doors or is controller are bad. (i bet this is horror vacuum controls, right?? 35 year old car, when did all this work right before.? the service manuals for old cars are super hard to find. only in print books, old as heck. to test vacuum servo's we use 2 tools a vacuum gauge and a hand vacuum pump. we do leak down tests on servo's back then. we wish to forget it . it is not hard, to do ,tools in hand, and pocket full of vacuum Tee fittings; to tap hoses. on my car last month I even removed all electric servo's and operated all blend doors by hand to be sure they are not jammed. I had a bad blend door servo, (motor actuator a $15 part) we did the same back then only we used the vacuum pump the MightyVac tool or the like.

Of course, you just broke in to the car. The car's computer doesn't know you are the owner. You need the dealership to make you a key based on the VIN Number.Then you need to reset the anti-theft system to recognise that new key.

use a multi-meter to test -battery-switch -relay-wiring -harness- connectors for short and check wiring -connections for corrosion

Sounds as though you need a new window regulator.

The starter motor is located under the intake manifold.Will require you remove the feul rail and wiring harness to get the intake off.

I would almost bet that your issue is the small wires that run from the lock cylinder down the steering column. They are known to break right at the lock cylinder. You have basically 2 choices. You can replace the lock cylinder and have the pins in the new one changed to accept your factory key, or you can bypass the PASS Lock system and have a set of resistors installed into the factory harness under the column. If you choose to bypass the PASS Lock, I suggest contacting an audio shop that installs remote start systems.
