2004 BMW X5 3.0i - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
HOW MANY MILES NEED TO REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN ON 2004 BMW X5 3.0 I
It doesn't need to be replaced- EVER. It is a double roller chain. It will be the Last thing to break right after the wheels fall off. Seriously, its good for 300k and more. Stop worrying.
Its also extremely complicated and expensive to replace. I could see replacing if you have to repair the heads anyway, but never as preventive maintenance. This isn't a toyota or lexus that breaks after 60k miles.
Many time, people replacing this item have a high degree of difficulty doing it right. This is especially true for people with a lot of experience on other brands and no experience with BMW Vanos systems. I can't tell you how many people decided to replace the timing chain on their fully operational BMW just to see that it would never run again.
What does cons1 13.4 mpg mean ?
Only means your getting 13.4 Miles Per Gallon of fuel. My old '86 Toyota Pickup has gotten as high as 33 mpg once, and I personally built this truck, but gets a consistent 23 to 27 mpg.
Hazards wont turn off and button doesn't work BMW
The button has to work if you pull it out. Pushing it in activates the hazard/four-way flashers, pulling the button out turns them off. If it still won't pull to turn them off, disconnect the battery and remove the steering wheel to access the button and replace it.
Accelerator feels lumpy
check fuel filter not got water or dirt in it and blocked ! if so replace it but first drain all fuel out of tank !
Passanger door will not unlock
can you HEAR the mechanism or is there no sound in that door ? many times the clip that holds the rods in place are just cheap plastic and crack / bust allowing the rod's to slip out of place..
